Planting the seeds... [Open to Green]
Who: The Greensworn and possibly any Green Flight NPCs that feel like popping in
What: Rose has a Great Plan for the Greensworn and it's time to get the preparations going.
Where: Emerald Sanctum
When: July 1st
Warnings: no posting order - free for all
[Rose had decided that the Greensworn needed to create a presence outside of the Emerald Sanctum and had finally figured out how she wanted to handle it. So, she gathered her flightmates at the base of the rise where their great Aspect, Ysera, slumbered away. Rose wasn't expecting the dragon to bother with them, but it just seemed like the right place to have these kind of discussions. Or maybe it was that the dhampir just felt more comfortable with a great green dragon behind her as a part of her could pretend that the Dragomir Princess was there backing her words, not that Rose would amit it.]
Okay, I guess I'll start with thanking you all for actually coming. I know some of you are extremely independent or new, so again, thanks. I've been doing a lot of thinking since the Kaldorei from Sin'thalas captured several dragonsworn from other flights and something caused those of Silverglen Retreat to alter the way they saw those from our flight as a result of false accusations against Jacques.
What this has told me is that outside of this Sanctum, we have very few places where we can be safe or can work from as a more permanent base of operations against the Burning Legion. I want to change that. As Greensworn, we are representatives of those who protect the Emerald Dream. Now, I can't really tell you what the Emerald Dream actually is, but it's where she is [Rose gestured to Ysera's sleeping form up the hill] and its existence is essential for Azeroth. I also have learned that the Emerald Dream is very important to the Kaldorei. We should be able to use this to persuade some of the more... open-minded Kaldorei that we aren't their enemies.
[On a patch of dirt, Rose knelt down and drew a crude map showing where Sin'thalas, Silverglen Retreat and the elven city of Derenaar was located in relationship to them.]
This is Sin'thalas and this is Silverglen Retreat. Down here is the city Derenaar. From what we can tell, Derenaar doesn't have much in the way of defenses or military might, unlike Sin'thalas which is crawling with them. It's a city that's lively and... really, it's a hell of a lot more breathtaking than either of the other cities. These elves seem to be more artistic in nature than the others.
Now, I don't know how the elves of Derenaar feel about the dragonsworn, but this seems like a good city to extend a hand of friendship and aide to. We need some place where we can work from, a place where the elves can see we are here to defeat the Burning Legion and that we aren't the enemy. I think if we regularly contribute to the city through labor and in their defenses against the demons and any others that might cause them problems, we can win them over.
But this is going to require a lot of dedication from us and, let's be honest here. We're going to have to try to become part of this city in some way. We can't just show up, say 'Hey, let's be friends, here's some provisions' and then expect to get open access to the city whenever we want. We've gotta work for it.
So... thoughts?

.....
...if they don't know that we're here to help them, then it will just be more difficult to get everyone to work together... We should try.
no subject
[But Lyn had a smile on her face. It was pretty clear she approved of the plan and, probably not surprisingly, approved of hard work too.]
I can't say I'm a politician but I'll do anything I can to not only make friends but to protect these people.
no subject
I do know that we're going to have to prove we can actually defeat the demons, so we'll have to do some scouring of the area before we head into the city to clear it of demons. It's a bit on the crude side, but in the history of my world, a bag of enemy heads went a long way of convincing people that someone's capable.
no subject
Oh! I can help clear out any demons! And scouring!
no subject
[Probably the youngest. But he's so eager that there's always going to be a little bit of teasing.]
no subject
[Not meaning that he doesn't believe the boy's abilities, but he's used to keeping an eye out on what those on the frontlines might miss when they're jumping headlong into things. ...although he'd rather not any bitties get hurt on any mission, really.]
no subject
Great! Welcome aboard, Jacques! I'm sure I could use the help!
[And he catches that teasing of Lyn and responds in snark] Gee, thanks Lyn. Are you sure you don't wanna come too or has your age taken all your energy?
no subject
I think a team-effort here is the best plan. Besides, Sora, we still need to get you outfitted at the armory, don't we?
no subject
But in all seriousness, Sora should be fine. I've walked him through finding something comfortable for his own style of combat.
no subject
no subject
[But oh right, there's a task at hand. He nods at Rose]
Yeah. Lyn found me a sword to use while my keyblade's gone.
[Armor though....well, he has those metal shoulderguards, but that's about it.]
no subject
[Rose rocked back on her heels.]
To help with this whole plan I cooked up and some stuff in the future, I've been learning the elves' language from Morpheus. It's called Darnassian. It'd probably be a good idea for us all to learn some so we're not stuck playing the stupidest game of charades ever.
no subject
[He's never really thought about the differences of language around here, so while Rose's proposition does make sense, it's still surprising.]
...is...it difficult?
no subject
Morpheus is really patient, though, so he can work with any learning curve.
no subject
Have a nod, Rose. You love those.]
no subject
Since we're all here, anyone have a flight matter they want to bring up?
no subject
...Geddoe mentioned you wanted to know about what he heard from Qilby..?
no subject
I hope he managed to get something out of him. I've learned not to trust supposedly nice old men.
no subject
[...a pause.]
...and neither do I.
[Jacques giving his own opinion on something? That never happens.
He fishes around his pockets for a note. Yeah. Geddoe wrote a note for him to read. Jacques still has to read it to Rose since it's in their home language, but at least it's on paper and not something he has to come up with, himself.]
"...Qilby's account of the circumstances surrounding Silverglen conflicts with other more reliable sources. This may be due to differences in perspective. He claims that he is interested in making connections with other Flight leaders with intentions to gain cooperation between them, and has himself claimed to speak for the Black Flight."
[His pale gaze flicks back at Rose once he finishes reading, letting the small missive roll back up in his hand.]
no subject
I've got a contact in the Black Flight that I can use to confirm Qilby's supposed place as speaker. They've also just had a new blacksworn arrive that I can tell isn't going to take well to anyone speaking for her.
Still... I'd like you all to be careful around the Blacksworn.
no subject
no subject
Sure, but ...I think I'm lost. What'd this Qilby guy do with Silverglen?
[Also? Not so fond of the idea of learning another language. Because man, he didn't do so well in school even before he dropped out. But he'll bite his tongue on that complaint]
no subject
The Black and Bronze Flights suddenly started being favored. We don't know who did it, but it's pretty suspicious that those two Flights had no one accused and the Black Flight went from being feared by the Silverglen elves to being friends.
Thankfully, Jacques was able to recover his reputation.
no subject
[Jacques nods, confirming Rose's explanation. Naturally, he doesn't offer anything more, but at least his silence isn't anything unusual.]
no subject
Jeez, and I thought we're all supposed to be working together! What jerks...! I'm glad you fixed it Jacques.
[And now that he's got his little angry outburst; he caught the bit about Bronze]
And hold up. I can't speak for Black or this Qilby guy, but I don't think it was Bronze. I got a friend there, and there's no way she'd go along with that sorta thing.
no subject
I'm glad you have a friend there and she wouldn't do those things, but you need to keep in mind that there are other Bronzesworn and the other flights not have as much of a sense of solidarity as we do. We have both Ysera and Morpheus to thank for not choosing dragonsworn that can work together and mostly want to work together.
Not bad for a bunch of sleeping beauties.
no subject
He has to agree that of the Greensworn, he's had no problems with any of those that have been brought to join them, and he's rather glad of that.]
no subject
[Because Lyn can be a bit vengeful. Especially when it comes to comrades and pals.]
no subject
[He trusts Namine. Sure, he doesn't agree with everything she did, but he knows that she'd never allow something like this to happen]
I wanna find out who it was too. We can't just let them think they can play around with people like that.
no subject
His eyes pause on Rose, but he looks towards the ground again thereafter. Talk of vengeance is exactly why the others that had been accused falsely had decided not to make it known whom they found to be the guilty party. The real threat couldn't be forgotten in all of this- they'd all been summoned to this world for one reason.]
no subject
If there's one thing I know, people who spread nasty rumors eventually get their faces revealed. And if we jump and hunt down the source if every lie spread about us, we'll be too busy to do the things we need to do.
And really, we're better than that.
no subject
Haha...yeah, you're right. Derenaar and killing demons first! I'll worry about the other stuff later!
[Yep okay, focusing now on what she suggested earlier related to the demons]
So you want me to get some armor right? Is it hard to move around in? I've...never really wore it in fights before.
no subject
[But she was willing to leave it there. They did have other things to deal with.]
You should wear what you want. I can't really wear armor since it slows me down.
no subject
If you're not used to it, then it might just make it more dangerous to wear...
...if nothing else, at least something to protect this.
[He places a hand on his chest, over his heart.]
no subject
[Rose shrugged a little.] I wear mail because the sword I use means I have to get up close and personal, and I'm strong and fast enough that it really doesn't hamper me. Now plate, on the other hand, feels like a metal coffin to me, so I don't wear it.
no subject
[So he nods at all of them] I...guess it wouldn't hurt to look at different chest pieces. See if anything fits!
[Since man he sure is well over a foot smaller than most of these night-elf people]
no subject
[Part of the joys of coming from a medieval society.]
