[OOC: This post is for any and all interaction with Derenaar and the Greensworn helping the elves from scouring demons to rearranging the greenery to other daily quests up to and including showing other Dragonsworn around. Please remember to add your tag to the post.]


[When the Greensworn arrived at Derenaar, they weren't entirely sure what to expect. Were these elves going to be like the Sin'thalas elves and wish their destruction because of some grudge against the dragons? Or would they be more like the elves of Silverglen Retreat, willing to allow them access and trade but stay distant? What they hadn't expected was - after a lengthy conversation in Darnassian between Rose Hathaway and the elven leaders of Derenaar - to be welcomed in with open arms to the city.

With it being better than initially expected, the Greensworn set about proving themselves by helping out in Derenaar. It seemed a bag of demon heads and a few Kaldorei druids that still honored the Green Flight went a long way.]

Wow, okay. So I wasn't kidding when I told one of my newbies that we were the only flight to have our shit together. No offense, Big Blue, but you - more than most - has gotta know what happens when a force without a clear leader face the Burning Legion.

[His tail wags a little at Jacques agreeing. Yay teamwork!]

Great! So do you see any demons from up there?

[Since man lion vision and hearing are great- but he's kiiinda low to the ground here]

You... do not have to remind me. I know all too well what happens.

[He answer to Alexstrasza's question hasn't changed. Even if the Light can't answer her questions, she must not fail. This world will not suffer the same fate as Draenor.]

There are... rifts in personalities that we have not been able to resolve.

Personalities or ideologies? In my experience, personalities only define how a person accomplishes a goal and who gets along with who. But as long as the goal is the same, those kind of things are insignificant. It just takes respect.

Now ideologies is something different, but I'm not about to believe there's someone in your flight that thinks the Burning Legion consuming everything is acceptable.

I mean, has anyone tried to lead and gotten shot down? Actions to me always speak louder than words.

No, I think we all agree that the Legion is awful, and that is all.

[And the steely edge creeping into her voice should only reinforce that. She narrows her eyes, and the glyph above her head fades completely.]

Understand that besides myself, there are two people who understand the threat the Legion poses. One is a woman who would not want me to fight out of a misplaced sense of motherly responsibility. The other is entirely mad. The rest, though I have tried to teach them, do not know how, or do not wish, to go to war. And at this time, even if I could lead them, I do not know how I would.

[Lifting his head, the hunter takes a look around, although he's pretty sure nothing is in the general vicinity. Probably a good thing since Sora's a bit loud.

He shakes his head, but Jacques is otherwise not finished with his report. His eyes move upwards where Hawk continues to wheel in the sky.]

[Yeah he's still working on that whole...sneaking part of being a feral druid.]

[He notices that look upward and he sits back on his hind legs, trying to get a good view on Hawk. His tail is still wagging with a bit of impatience because aw yeah fights]

See, if I were in your flight, there was a time when I would say to hell with those that want to sit all cozy in the Sanctum, grab the ones that understand and are crazy enough to follow me into battle and go kick ass. Because doing something is better than doing nothing.

But now... I get that not everyone realizes the Bogeyman is real and some really aren't cut out for fighting. And maybe there is logic behind having different branches. Maybe your flight needs to work like the Armed Forces from my world. Well, the human Armed Forces from my world. I learned about them during the couple years where I was trying to blend in with the humans.

[Remember, Rose isn't human despite looking and acting an awful lot like one.]

You got like the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the Marines. You and the other hardcore fighters would be like the Marines. They tend to do tactical strikes. The Army are ground forces sometimes used in securing places, the Navy are sea warriors and the Air Force handles air support. Each branch has a general that leads their respective branches, but all the generals meet in a council of sorts, like the Joint Chiefs of Staff or something like that, and come up with an agreement as to where there people will go in response to the common threat.

And if I haven't totally lost you, maybe those principles will work for your flight.

[Hawk cries out, earning a nod from Jacques as he suddenly moves to hop down from the tree. He swings his bow gun over a shoulder, nodding towards the woods.]

He sees something to the northeast.

Northeast?

[Yay action! He bounces to his feet, looking up at Jacques]

Alright! Let's go!

[Small lion away!!]

[ninjacques]

[Jacques is actually a little surprised once the lion cub goes sprinting off. He hadn't expected Sora to take off so soon, and shouting after him will just draw attention.

He glances up briefly, but it seems Hawk has already spied Sora's movement, his circle widening as he continues to glide above. With a nod to himself, the hunter moves to follow after the little lion, perhaps not as quickly, but someone needs to be keeping an eye and ear out!]

Hold up for a moment.

[Lyn was working to catch up. She honestly didn't do too well in forests and had to pick her way through the brush so she didn't get caught up on something. Her pet fared a lot better, braving its way through branches without any help.]

You shouldn't be going out alone.

Call this a crazy question, but...

[Up walks the paladin, as unsubtle as ever in his own personal choice of plate mail, one hand lifted in the greeting he hadn't offered verbally.]

...are you out here prepared to engage demons entirely on your own, without your entire flight showing up to yell at you over it?

[seesbosscrotch]

[Mar arrives fairly early in the week, and quite frankly he probably stands out more than most thanks to his plate armor, weapon obviously taken from a troll, and being a Sin'dorei who looks so close to belonging but not quite that he's right in the uncanny valley of appropriate appearance here.]

[This discourages him not at all, and he immediately plunges into the markets and stores for negotiations -- a man on a mission, if you care to cross his path and say hello.]

[Rose waited for Lyn to catch up.]

This is just normal patrols. I'll be fine, but you look like you're having a bit of trouble. Might me what you're wearing.

That is a weird question. [Rose turned toward Maridian and rest her sword casually on her shoulder.]

My entire flight generally doesn't yell at me about anything, but I think that's mostly because they know I'm both capable and our leader. But reality is that I'm on patrol, have a couple flightmates within distance to aid me should demons come this way, and there aren't many demon incursions this far south anyways.

Also, this is Derenaar. [She jerked her thumb back toward the elven city.] The Greensworn support it. Hence the patrols, though we're more worried about trolls than demons right now. We already cleared the two demon scouting parties out a few days ago.

[seesbosscrotch]

Ah, well. [He chuckles, shaking his head.] No point in trying to transfer, then, not yet anyway. I'm glad to hear you all have it together, though. Not surprising, and something I'd expect of the Emerald Flight.

[Of the Aspects, Ysera is the only other one he trusts besides Alexstraza, since those are the only two he hasn't personally put to the sword in one form or another...]

Contrary to popular belief, walking in the woods is a learned skill.

[But she still managed. Being graceful had its benefits.]

Where I come from, there wasn't a single tree in sight.

Yeah, I've gathered that my flight seems to be the only one that has our shit together. Shame, too, since until the rest of you do, I can't do much about getting us all on the same page for effective strikes against the Burning Legion. It also makes it more difficult to move forward with my plans here, but both me and my flight is adaptable.

[She titled her head.] But what did you mean 'trying to transfer'?

[seesbosscrotch]

[At this, Mar can't help but laugh, grinning broadly.]

You pretty much answered that question with every statement you made before it, you know. Not that I actually think it's possible to transfer which flight one is sworn to...

It is? [Says the dhampir that mostly grew up in Montana.]

I don't think I could stand places without trees.

You want to join my flight?

[This would be the second time Rose has heard of someone wanting to not be part of their sworn flight, though she took Emma's words with a grain of salt because she was newly arrived. But Maridian... He'd come in with the rest of them during the first wave. And he seemed so...]

But you're so Red.

In the opposite, I won't say that I can't stand places with trees but I'm certainly not fond of them. I much prefer to have grass under my feet and the sky over my head.

I don't think you're going to find places like that here. Pretty sure the maps of this land show we've got thick forest, mountains and sand.

Exactly. That's why I'm working on trying to pick up certain skills as fast as I can.
