Bariyan did his best to follow Mar in his sudden swerve while, at the same time, avoiding a gout of fire and rock from the infernal which was now giving loud chase.

"It's not just you!" Bariyan answered, putting on a burst of speed -- hopefully egging Mar on to do the same. "Something's wrong with -- with my connection to the Light, too!"
