[The Ruby Sanctum is a flurry of activity. This becomes clear within two seconds of stepping through the portal. The wounded are guided over to a grassy clearing surrounded by saplings and adolescent trees, bade to lay down and receive healing from other dragonkin. Some of the trees are years old, while a few look to have shot up recently. If you watch, vines engulf one fallen warrior; the body sinks into the ground, and a tiny sapling appears in its place.

Despite the war going on outside, the sanctum is less of a cavern and more like a self-contained dimension. Ample sunlight drifts down through scarlet leaves, which are occasionally home to the crimson scales of a whelpling. There is life everywhere: insects on twigs, birds chirping overhead, flowers at your feet. Dragon eggs lay nestled in the nooks and crannies offered by the tranquil forest. There is a decently-sized spring filled with fresh, pure water, as well as some small rocky outcroppings to sleep in. It's warm and comfortable enough to rest out in the open, too.

The cloaked and ever-mysterious Krasus stands watching the dispersing redsworn, his back against the massive oak in the center of the sanctum.

Occasionally, one may glimpse a beautiful red-haired woman with copper skin winding through the copse.]

I see. As for my powers... I can still draw forth healing magic. However, perhaps because of the different laws of this universe, it comes with much less ease than I am used to.

I haven't affirmed if my powers were replaced or sealed. [She's an actual Priest now, actually- and her healing is pretty fucking good. Only real thing she can do at the moment, but hey, she managed to heal an entire dragon!... And later, fainting, but.]

[He flexes his hand, looking down at it.]

If I were to wager a guess I'd say they got replaced. I've got the same problem. Not a darn thing I've discovered I can do now even resembles what I was capable of before. [And it's a huge downgrade, and that upsets him.]

So it is...

[Ah, so her suspicions are not unfounded after all.] In the best case scenario, we've only been granted new powers, in conjunction with our native skills being sealed. Or perhaps, our powers and undergoing changes in this new environment.

Hopefully, with how this world brought up here, they were able to grant us powers useful against the demons.

My powers were already useful against any enemy. [He lashes out with his words, although not at her.] If they are going to give us a new power to use, they could of at least given us some kind of direction in which we can learn to use them.

[How inconsiderate of whoever's fault this is!]

[Hm...]

If so, there's little chance it was the fault of the Dragons who called for us. [Which means that it was either the world itself, or the Burning Legion. Or... Infinite Dragonflight?]

But if it were the enemies' actions, they would have removed all our powers. [Soooo...] It does seem our powers before were simply not compatible with this world.

An instruction manual still would have been nice. [His sarcasm drips, even though he really would have liked a clue as to what this new power of theirs was.]

It doesn't matter, but I know one thing; I'm getting out of here soon, because there is no way I'm sticking around here any longer than I have to. This Burning Legion business isn't going to solve itself and I'm going to give them a piece of my mind.

[His frustration probably couldn't be any clearer, and his temper is getting the better of him by the second. It might lead to some bad decisions on his part later, leaving the sanctum before he's ready.]

[Haha, yeah, leaving the sanctum too early, what kind of idiot would do that?]

It would be unwise to seek them out actively. Perhaps we could find the extent of our abilities ourselves first.

Yeah, yeah. I'll figure this out on my own. [Ever the arrogant stubborn jerk who doesn't want help :( ]

I'll learn to control this power, and when I do, I assure you I'll take care of this Legion. [He says that, but he's unsure if he can do it alone. He's already been in a situation that merited help as much as he hated that fact, but that's what comes with being transported to new universes.]

[Damn, Vegeta. Tough words.

He doesn't sound like a boaster, though. Amane isn't a completely horrible judge of character, so maybe he has reasons to believe what he did...

Someone like him kind of drives her to the point that sometimes, literally the only polite thing she can do is say 'I see' over and over.]

Alright then. By the way... what's your name? I am Amane Kuzuryu.

[He almost spits out 'none of your business' but he knows how that fared last time for him, so he actually decides not to be a dick for a change.]

[Hand setting on his hip, he gives her a look before he answers.]

It's Vegeta. Now, if you don't mind, I think I've got some work to do now that I'm thinking about it. [Now he's in a training mindset, oh boy]

[Good Vegeta. She's wondering if that name is fake, but doesn't press, obviously.]

I will see you another time, then. [And they go separate ways.]
