sometimes you can't make it

Who: Alexstrasza, Krasus/Korialstrasz, and the Redsworn
What: Successful retreat into the Ruby Sanctum
Where: Ruby Sanctum
When: After a long, grueling battle near the borders of Suramar
Warnings: Please PM the mods if any warnings are needed

[The Ruby Sanctum is a flurry of activity. This becomes clear within two seconds of stepping through the portal. The wounded are guided over to a grassy clearing surrounded by saplings and adolescent trees, bade to lay down and receive healing from other dragonkin. Some of the trees are years old, while a few look to have shot up recently. If you watch, vines engulf one fallen warrior; the body sinks into the ground, and a tiny sapling appears in its place.

Despite the war going on outside, the sanctum is less of a cavern and more like a self-contained dimension. Ample sunlight drifts down through scarlet leaves, which are occasionally home to the crimson scales of a whelpling. There is life everywhere: insects on twigs, birds chirping overhead, flowers at your feet. Dragon eggs lay nestled in the nooks and crannies offered by the tranquil forest. There is a decently-sized spring filled with fresh, pure water, as well as some small rocky outcroppings to sleep in. It's warm and comfortable enough to rest out in the open, too.

The cloaked and ever-mysterious Krasus stands watching the dispersing redsworn, his back against the massive oak in the center of the sanctum.

Occasionally, one may glimpse a beautiful red-haired woman with copper skin winding through the copse.]

[ooc: Mingle log for redsworn!]

Why not? They're stylish, protective, fashion-coordinated, and generally some of the strongest armor available!

Because...because that... [Oh he's getting really angry even imagining it!]

That is not a garment a Saiyan warrior wears into battle, that's why! [IT'S SO EMBARRASSING TO THINK ABOUT FOR HIM]

Of course a warrior wouldn't wear it! That sort of garment is generally reserved for Paladins, Vindicators, and Blood Knights, in keeping with our shared usage of the Light to augment our martial abilities.
misterbrief: (I don't care how strong you are.)

[He sets back, looking disgusted.]

If that's your business, then fine. I don't care what it is that makes the use of a dress in battle effective, but I can tell you now it looks ridiculous! [He hasn't even seen it yet and he's convinced it looks silly.] All you'll end up doing is falling flat on your face! And then what will you do with your fashionable getup, huh?

I'm not certain how you're imagining these, but plate dresses are ankle-length and reinforced, thus preventing them from getting caught under almost all circumstances!

[No one will argue it looks silly, not even Mar, but they are what they are.]
misterbrief: (you're lying)

That's exactly my point, nimwit. As easy as it is to only use one's fists, I'd rather have the use of my legs just in case. You won't be kicking anything in a dress.

I never was kicking anyone anyway! I'm not a monk, I wouldn't be wearing plate armor if I intended to kick anyone.

It may surprise you to hear that the majority of Azerothian combatants use weapons!

[A monk? The hell is that in this world. That's not what he is, is it? It would make sense, he wonders if they use holy power.]

It might surprise you that a majority of warriors at all use weapons. Even if it didn't save them in the end.

While true, I've noticed more people who use weapons and armor end up living than don't. Assuming we're counting mage and priest staffs and robes as armor, of course.
