[OOC: This post is for any and all interaction with Derenaar and the Greensworn helping the elves from scouring demons to rearranging the greenery to other daily quests up to and including showing other Dragonsworn around. Please remember to add your tag to the post.]


[When the Greensworn arrived at Derenaar, they weren't entirely sure what to expect. Were these elves going to be like the Sin'thalas elves and wish their destruction because of some grudge against the dragons? Or would they be more like the elves of Silverglen Retreat, willing to allow them access and trade but stay distant? What they hadn't expected was - after a lengthy conversation in Darnassian between Rose Hathaway and the elven leaders of Derenaar - to be welcomed in with open arms to the city.

With it being better than initially expected, the Greensworn set about proving themselves by helping out in Derenaar. It seemed a bag of demon heads and a few Kaldorei druids that still honored the Green Flight went a long way.]

Anyways, how about you softly whisper to the underbrush, asking it to make way for you? You might find yourself a bit more comfortable then.

"The demons tend to make their presence pretty well known except those felbeasts." And Rose suspected if he'd come across one of them, he wouldn't have been there talking to her.

"But good to hear. Sometimes boring watch is better than interesting watch. So what brings you this way? You're kinda close to Derenaar."

[wilder]

[a sigh]

Sad for me, but completely true.

[Yeah, Mar just doesn't change out of his armor. Apparently ever. On the other hand, he wears the stuff like a second skin, apparently unaware that a massive suit of armor ought to inhibit his movements in any way. And he looks pretty cool in it, right?]

Why, of course not! What discourtesy would that be to you?

[In fact he rises and bows in courtly greeting to her, just to cement the whole 'courtesy' thing.]

[He also stands out like a sore thumb at the tavern, but he tended to stand out like that anywhere, cool armor or not. Rose, personally, didn't like plate, preferring mail, as the plate made her feel a little claustrophobic for some reason.]

You take that whole chivalry thing and kick it up ten notches, don't you?

[She took a seat.]

Only so long as it doesn't annoy you. [His answer is completely candid and totally self-aware. Back down he sits, folding his hands on the table with some satisfaction.] I'll try to keep the shameless flirtations from coloring my narrative.

By all means, continue shamelessly flirting. It makes a girl feel good. And I'm the type that will tell you when you're getting annoying.

[Quite possibly with a punch to gut, but sometimes she remembers violence isn't always the answer. It's just usually the fun answer.]

You never know. Someday, too, you could be cool. [She tilted her head a bit in mock thought.] Might take a pair of shades, though.

And deny people the sight of my beautiful eyes? I could never!

[Well, if she wants to punch the shiny armor...]

Keep being both pretty and interesting, and you'll find I won't be able to stop!

Washington nods. "It's a good thing if you are out alone that they are mostly obvious. Though I'm willing to bet I've been ridiculously lucky as it is."

That gets a nervous laugh. "Would you believe I was out hunting and lost track of my location a bit? The raptor needs exercise, and I was feeling restless. I didn't mean to intrude. I'll be fine, just didn't have that urgent a need to get back."

[theshadowkissed]

Rose looked up at the sky a moment. "I guess it is getting a bit late. Are you going to be able to get back to your Sanctum before dark? If not, I can talk the elves into letting you stay the night. You'll just have to make sure your dinosaur doesn't go wandering places it shouldn't while in town."

She shrugged a little. "They're not exactly accommodating of other flights yet, but they won't try to stab you in the face or anything like that."

[Don't tempt her. She's willing to punch dragons in the nose!]

I can't exactly stop being pretty on my own, so no need to worry about that.

I guess you're just doomed then.

Washington shrugs. It's a really tough call for him. "I'm not sure. It might be possible to get back to Bronze Sanctum, except for the fact that I've got the raptor. It's flighty, and regularly goes chasing everything that moves that it can find."

He hesitates at that. "If you promise it won't be like my stay in Sin'Thalas with the elves there, I'll take that offer. I promise, the raptor will be on its best behavior."

[seesbosscrotch]

Oh, you could if you wanted to, or at least conceal it. But I'm certainly not here to encourage you to do that -- I'm here to ramble on about Azerothian history, or from your perspective, a future that is not quite meant to be in this timeline!

[wilder]

You think so? [He sighs and slumps his shoulders melodramatically] Man, poor ol' me. Forever doomed to be un-awesome.

[theshadowkissed]

"If Derenaar was anything like Sin'thalas, I'd have already been stabbed in the face instead of welcomed in as a protector," Rose replied as she dropped down from the tree and sheathed her sword across her back.

"Just keep in mind if there's any conflict, I'm the one that's going to have to throw you out. And that might end up getting messy." It seemed she wasn't put off at all by Washington's larger size or the raptor. "But play nice and I can promise you'll have a pleasant night's sleep."

Are you sure it's not meant to be?

[Rose flagged an elf down and, in somewhat broken Darnassian, ordered something to eat and drink.]

[She patted him on the shoulder.] I'm sure you'll find a way to survive. It could be worse; you could be a nerd.

...Yeah. 'Course I'm not one of those!

Hey, when things here are more settled, there are some pretty interesting clubs here. They have some other name in Darnassian, but they're clubs as far as I'm concerned. You can come by and show off your dance moves.
