[Yugo doesn't exactly enter gracefully. One minute, all is quiet. The next, he simply appears with a little 'pop' as space reorganizes itself to allow his existence. After being told some things by the lady with the blue hair and then transported again, he ends up losing his balance and falling face-first against a nearby stalagmite.

Whoops. Gotta work on the landing.

He pulls himself back and rubs at his face fiercely, and then he finally takes it all in-- the aurora, the crystal lake, the endless reflections and light dancing off the cave formations. He's never seen anything like it, and yet something about it makes him think of home.

Oh, wait, that's the dragons. There are definitely dragons. Not many dragons, but that's still more than he's used to seeing, and he can't help but gawk for a few minutes.]

[Yugo rests his hands on his ankles, sitting crosslegged.]

Really? What's having a sister like?

[ a thoughtful glance, as he stirs. ]

Uh, well.. we don't really have a normal relationship, so I dunno if I'm the best one to ask, but.. she's kinda like a Mom and a Sis both in one. But it's good! I mean, she's great!

[ and he. really.. misses her. ]

[Yugo can kind of tell.]

I don't know what having a mom is like, but I think I can kind of imagine what you mean.

[Eva is always looking out for him, scolding him when necessary and supporting him when he needs it. He misses everyone, really-- it's been a while since he saw them. He misses his twin most of all, though.]

I'm pretty sure my bro and I hatched at the same time, but he acts older than he is. Er, we are. [... ???] Whatever. He helps me out a lot, even if he's kind of a know-it-all.

it's kind of sad, to hear that from yugo - i don't know what having a mom is like - but really, genis is in the same boat, isn't he? raine had been sister, mother and friend to him all but it's.. not really the same, is it? of course, that doesn't mean that he isn't grateful for her in every way he possibly could be.

but despite it, yugo still seems the warm and cheerful sort, so maybe it's not a big deal. families come in all sorts of weird shapes and sizes.

but this Deep Thought train is entirely interrupted by what yugo says next ]

[Eh, Yugo's life is strange and honestly, having one parent was usually enough. Alibert's a great dad. He doesn't realize what he's said until Genis' expression changes.]

Uh...

[... Right. People don't usually hatch. He meant to say born. HE THOUGHT HE SAID BORN.]

You -- really? Like out of an egg?

[He rubs at his nose.]

Well... yeah, actually. My dad found me when I was little, but he adopted me.

[He senses that's not going to explain it well enough, so he tries to make this sound as normal as possible.] Whenever me and my bro die, our life force will go back to our egg, and then hopefully we'll be reborn sometime.

There's only a couple of my people that do that. It's weird to think about, I guess.

[ woah woah back up, this is all sounding totally foreign but really cool, and genis is trying to process it but there's a little too much missing information to work with. ]

[ his brow furrows thoughtfully. ]

[Yugo is wondering if his weirdness is going to cost him a friend! Not that he has to deal with racism the way Genis does.]

I'm an Eliatrope! [he says this like it explains everything, of course it doesn't.] I'm not a demon or anything like that, I'm just... from a different world, originally. I guess I'm 'not human' in that sense.

Eliatrope.. I've never heard of one before! We don't have any, back home. Does it mean you can do cool stuff? And you're immortal, too!?

[Whoa, whoa, Genis. You sound REALLY EXCITED and meanwhile Yugo just gets more confused.]

I can do lots of cool stuff! ... When my powers are working, eheheh. I can make portals. My brother can shapeshift and cast neat spells, but he's a dragon, so that's his specialty.

[He pauses.] I guess that makes me immortal, but I don't remember anything about my last life. [He's not sure he made some great choices there, and being called immortal just makes him think of Qilby.]

[It's probably a good thing. Apparently they fueled their journey through the universe by sucking the life out of other people's planets and pissing off the native populations.]

Definitely not. The closest I've ever been to breathing fire is when I ate a really spicy stew.

But we are related-- we came out of the same egg and everything. We're twins. I can feel when he's in trouble, you know?

.. still, if they came from the same, uh, egg, and they share a connection like that, who is he to judge? i mean it's definitely weird and he's never heard of anything like that, but.. hey, family is family. ]

[Family is family, indeed. Even if he was HATCHED FROM AN EGG like a goddamn bird, he still considers his dad to be his only dad. So there's that.]

I'm kind of 'different' on my world, too. Since I'm not originally from it, I guess that makes sense.

[He laughs lightly. Maybe he would've been sad about being alone a while ago, but he knows he isn't. When he grows up and the world is ready, they'll come back.]

I think you wouldn't have any problems in the World of Twelve, though.

luckily genis isn't raine and he often thinks with his heart before his head so it all seems fine to him. if a little weird. and he's definitely curious about it all but in the end it's water under the bridge. ]

[Yugo is pretty sure he knows what Genis was about to say. But he actually doesn't seem that surprised!]

Did they have huge teeth? Crazy dungeons?

Um, well, no it wasn't in a dungeon but.. it definitely had huge teeth!

Oh man, I wish I'd seen it! One of my friends took on a dragon-pig barehanded. And he lived. I want to be that cool someday.

The biggest enemy I ever fought was... a huge stone guardian thing, I think. It was easily as big as, uh, that big rock over there. [He points to a stalagmite that's at least three stories tall. Maybe more.]
