Who: The Dragonsworn
What: The first arrival of the Dragonsworn goes a bit...awry.
Where: Scattered around the perimeter of Suramar.

It is almost as if you've woken from a daydream when the ground meets your feet. The stench of fire is overpowering, and though dawn is just approaching in the canopies of Kalimdor, bright flashes of green can be seen between the branches of impossibly tall trees. If that doesn't snap you out of your surprise, then the sound of nearby spitting in demonic tongue may persuade you to get a grip and notice your surroundings -- you are not alone. There are others like you, huddled just a bit too close, with a somewhat familiar face keeping you from advancing further. Looking down at your hands may briefly reveal a momentary flash of color, but nothing lasting more than a few seconds.

The mages of each flight take the helm of their charges, and they are quick to notice any movement from their groups despite channeling some sort of spell to keep you protected. Stray fire will bounce off an invisible shield that ripples when anything make contact with it. There seems to be nothing in sight but your new comrades, and your guardian -- at least not on the ground. The sky has flying demons swarming a pack of dragons -- and the dragons are very clearly losing. Look just a bit farther, and you might find more dragons, though these clearly have different colored scales than the ones above your head.

While distracted, you may hear your guardian speak to you. "There may yet be wounded nearby -- if you care to, bring them here, and we will tend to them from the Sanctum." Briefly, they gesture skyward, toward the dragons flying overhead. "Do not bring to us any that are not our own, lest you invite their demise!"

But the mage is focused on casting -- they are in no position to halt your advance, and they know it. They speak with concern -- concern for you, concern for the dire situation at hand. The demonic cackling is drawing near. The forests are rapidly becoming overrun, and there are already a few dragons slain on the forest floor.

"Take care, Dragonsworn -- I am bringing us to safety, but it will take time. To wander far is to invite your ruin, and we cannot afford the loss of your life."

[OOC: You are free to mingle on this post as you choose, despite the flight groups being scattered through the forests around Suramar -- after this log, you will be separated into your sanctums, and your interactions will be watched much more closely. Attempting to enter the city itself will result in a vicious attack from demons that will kill. The Dragon Mages will be tagging sporadically to heroes of their matching flight, and the conclusion of this log will lead Dragonsworn through portals to their Sanctums.]

You used too much mana and passed out. That woman that was with you left you with me. Said something about flights?

How're you feeling?

[That's kinda embarrassing.]

I see... my apologies. I was unaware how strong the seal of magic was...

[It's not actually a seal, which she'll figure out- later.] I'm fine now. Passing out isn't too taxing, but I still am surprised it happened here.

What's your name? ...Did you catch hers?

Are you not new to magic? [He frowns, a bit curious. Usually it's rookies that mess up with that, after all]

Afraid I didn't catch it, but I'm Kaneis! [The lie comes naturally now] What about you? Who do I have the honor of speaking with?

[Damn.] Relatively speaking, for humans... no.

[For demons and other entities, she's probably small fry.] My name is Amane Kuzuryu. You can call me Amane.

Thank you very much, Kaneis. And... if you see her again before I do, could you thank her as well? I would not have lasted long amongst the demons.

[The idea of humans using magic is still a strange concept for him, even if he heard it before in the last world he was in. But he won't get into right now, instead frowning] Huh, that's weird.

Amane, alright. I'll sure try to do that. But you gotta promise to be more careful, okay?

Trying to draw from my reserves were nowhere as easy to withdraw as before. It was almost as if I was using a completely unknown kind of magic.

Yes, I'll make sure of that... you need not worry about me. [She can just heal them back to consciousness instead of FULL HEAL MEDIARAHAN attempt.] There does seem to be a strong magic seal in effect, though... it would be good to warn as much as possible.

A completely unknown kind of magic...? [Fortunately, he's pretty sharp when he wants to be. He didn't need to try to cast magic to notice something was off] Did they completely change our abilities..?

And I dunno...we're kinda in the middle of a demon vs. dragon battle. It's hard not to feel some kind of worry.

...But that would be quite troublesome, wouldn't it?

[But Amane seems to be accepting that. OKAY, NEW TYPE OF MAGIC... she's not that much weaker!] Unless it was the fault of the demons... but why would they change it and not remove it completely?

[Middle of a huge battle, best time to be wondering about the mechanics of Azeroth and attempt to understand that this is not the demon world.] That is true. I'll stay close to rest, then... at least, unless the situation turns dire.

[Basically, fucked if she would just sit by and watch people die.]

Or just kill us. That'd be the easiest answer. [He sighs and says lightly] It's pointless to speculate if we don't have any good ideas.

[He looks around them at the situation. The mages were still working on the portals, and the sky was still filled with dragons and demons]

Yeah, good idea. Their barrier should hold, right?

[...Yeah.]

Unless they want us for something else, of course... but you're right. We'll be able to figure out soon enough if we're stuck here.

[What an inconvenient time to be ported away... hell, the realization is hitting Amane that she shouldn't even be conscious. She also can't feel any other presence inside her... does that mean-?] I trust that it does. If anything, I'll heal anyone should they receive injuries more than the normal scratch or bruise.

[he gives a little nod, and then an amused look at her offer]

Heh...I'm gonna take a stab and guess you're really not good at the whole resting thing, are you?

[No. She really isn't.]

I can still walk and speak. I'm more than capable of doing a bit of healing. [Shit hasn't got too far into Hell yet.]

Oy, don't give me that! Healing takes a bit more skill than that!

If it gets real bad, I won't stop you! But you gotta remember you don't know your limits yet! Or even what your abilities are. Pushing out of duty could be real dangerous.

[She knows that, but as long as she's conscious, she's not gonna just sit around!

She's not gonna get herself killed outright, of course.] I understand. Same to you, Kaneis. [Not much of an argument going on in the 'justification that I can still do shit' department.]

I'll go back to where we appeared first, if that puts you more at rest.

Yeah, don't worry- I can't even seem to use my magic. [So no hurting his limits here!]
