[A - Somewhere en route to the Blue Sanctum]

*If you happen to be out and about today, whether hunting, scouting, or just getting a breath of fresh air, you might happen to chance across a certain dragonsworn mercenary on his way back to the sanctum. He looks rather like he's been sleeping outside the past several days at least, and is hauling what appears to be the better part of a stag carcass slung across his shoulder. Do you approach?*


[B - Inside the Blue Sanctum]

*After having been absent for... several weeks, at least, Geddoe finally makes his way back into the sanctum. He's carrying a good chunk of stag carcass that he wastes no time handing over to those in charge of the food stores, and generally definitely looks the part of someone who's been roughing it outdoors for some time. That, and he's very obviously in need of a bath.

Still, though, at least he's back?*


((OOC: Since I derped out for most the month due to various things that came up I figured the simplest explanation for a lack of reaction on Geddoe's part to some of the recent events was that he simply wasn't around for them in the first place. :|b Feel free to poke me if there's anything you'd still like me to pick up or backtag though, even if it's old stuff!))

*nods; he doesn't need many details on that point, but now that the main issue is out of the way...*

How do they determine to what flight someone belongs? I doubt everyone bothers wearing their livery if they don't have to.

*Geddoe, for one, rather prefers sticking with the clothes he came with*

[That seems like a random question, so for a moment Jacques is thrown. The hunter himself usually sticks to his usual wear, although he'd secured some Greensworn light armor and a cloak to wear if their flight had business with others, such as when they'd took the initiative in preparing to infiltrate Sin'thalas.]

...sometimes they do. Otherwise, if they don't say as much outright, then you might be able to tell from their magic if they use it.

*which meant that some of the abilities people seemed to have gained upon arrival were unique to the various flights....*

Do you know what magic belongs to which flight?

*obviously, Geddoe himself hadn't had a chance yet to investigate that sort of thing*

...only what I saw the red and blue use, then. ...aside from Greensworn.

Red can use fire, blue... [He pauses, because isn't Geddoe from Bluesworn? Well, then again, perhaps no one's had any cause to use their abilities before the mercenary had gone off on his trip.] ...ice.

[It wasn't clear to him whether that vaporizing the furbolg bit had been part of the Bluesworn's magical repertoire or if it was something Yugo knew from home, so he holds off on mentioning that.]

...Greensworn can manipulate plant life, and call a mist that brings sleep or can poison... There's also dreamwalking...

[He considers before adding:]

...I can only do the first, so far.

*that gets a nod*

Blue can see the strands of magic of this world. Most likely learn how to manipulate it, as well.

*he sees no reason to withhold that information from Jacques, though perhaps obviously the latter isn't a skill he's acquired yet, especially since testing his control of the rune came first*

[He's not quite sure he understands what that means, but he nods slowly, all the same.]

...then...could they learn the magic of other flights..?

.... Probably not. What you've learned so far is somewhat instinctive since being brought here, isn't it?

[ninjacques]

[Considering that, Jacques nods again. This magic stuff is new to him in general, although he can't say that it isn't convenient, at least for as much as he's managed to learn, anyway.]

The magic of this world is considerably different from the runes, at least.

*since despite appearances, Geddoe's reasonably accomplished at using rune magic, after all*

[He's not going to disagree nor question someone who knows rune magic, much less bears a True Rune.]

...does rune magic still work here, though?

[lightningbearer]

I can use mine, though it seems more difficult to control than usual.

*which was why he trekked off into the middle of nowhere to test it in the first place*

[ninjacques]

[Yet another nod. Geddoe should be used to getting those from him, though.]

*Geddoe's very used to Jacques's minimalist style of speech, really*

Have you been having a hard time learning the magic here?

*....of course, by that same token, he can pick up at least a little on what Jacques isn't saying relevant to the topic at hand*

[ninjacques]

[This is probably the most he's ever spoken to Geddoe...for as long as he's known him.

He isn't at all surprised to be asked that question, though, and he's got nothing to hide nor gain by not answering.]

...somewhat.

[The hunter stoops down by a little patch of grass, holding a hand over it, and with a faint green glow, a little sprout emerges and blooms into a tiny flower.]

Coaxing things to grow comes easily enough....

[Maybe summoning mist wouldn't be too difficult either, but dreamwalking seems more abstract.]

*nods, quiet for a moment as he considers something*

...I don't have time to spare right now, and can't promise much anyway, but if you can't find someone in your own flight to learn from...

*never would Geddoe have thought he'd be in a position to instruct someone in using magic, but these were certainly not ordinary circumstances by any stretch of the imagination*

[ninjacques]

[He brushes his fingers against the little bloom, pausing to lift his head as Geddoe's words sink in. Even if the sentence is left unfinished, it's obvious what he'd meant.

...which is why Jacques kind of stares at the man a moment or two.

And then finally, perhaps a second after things might start to feel awkward, the hunter nods.]

[lightningbearer]

*don't look so surprised, Jacques, you should know by now Geddoe can be quite pragmatic when he wants to, after all... and these are very unusual circumstances indeed*

It's likely that, sooner or later, we may find ourselves in need of some of the abilities we've been given, so it would be best to learn to use them.

*and, of course, for as gruff as he can seem Geddoe does care about his teammate's well being*

[ninjacques]

...yeah...

[He replies verbally rather than wear out his quota of nods, this time. For all that his expression remains neutral, Jacques has overall been glad to have at least someone around that he knows and can trust.]

[lightningbearer]

*Geddoe feels the same way, though after a moment he gives a small sigh*

I should go for now.

*he does need to get back to his flight and get cleaned up, after all*

[ninjacques]

[Jacques gets to his feet again, allowing for another nod at that. He should probably get back to hunting as well.]

[lightningbearer]

*returns the nod, then turns to go on his way*

[The hunter doesn't depart right away. He watches Geddoe go, perhaps semi-out of habit, even though he knows that if anything does decide to pop out, the man would be able to deal with it himself. It doesn't stop Jacques from keeping a watchful eye out until Geddoe's gone out of sight.]
