A: COOKING FIRE SHENANIGANS

Feeling peckish? Have a delivery to make? Or just want to try your own hand at serving up some grub? The Redsworn's usual cooking area has been expanded for the evening, with two extra firepits dug out to cater for additional mouths. Over one fire burns the now "traditional" starter meat of bear flank, something any newly sworn (red or otherwise) will have the pleasure of sampling first. There's also several baskets of berries, fruit and vegetables, while a pot obtained in trade from Silverglen bubbles merrily.

B: FIRESIDE MINGLE

The redsworn of the Ruby Sanctum have claimed a corner of their own beneath one of the larger trees. There's a smaller fire here set for warmth and ambience, and have logs set about for seating for those who don't like perching on rocks or roots, or don't find the comfy grass comfy - park yourself and have a chat!

[It wasn't that Zelos was really eating that food, in fact he was slowly giving it to the whelps. Still. It's very eyebrow raising worth when he sees a girl trying to steal food off his plate]

Uh...did they run out of food or something?

[wilder]

[He watches Qilby's rather undignified response, doing his best not to betray any sort of amusement on his face. It was totally worth it.]

Heh- yeah. Never could fully get rid of my streak...

[And he'll look up at him, not bothering to get up. He's comfortable, and never really cares all that much about whether or not someone is looking down on him- physically or metaphorically.]

What? You mean like killing the people causing trouble? That's pretty cold thinking, isn't it?

[traitre]

[He turns his attention to his fingernails, as if a little bored by the question.] When you consider that their actions waste our time and resources, with each passing day potentially causing the deaths of thousands of people on thousands of worlds-- perhaps it seems a little less cold.

But you're right, death is no solution. What would you propose we do with them, then? [He arches a brow.] Imprisonment, perhaps? Exile?

[The way he asks makes it sound as if he's taking requests. Innocent conversation if Zelos is ignorant of everything, a mild threat if he knows as much as Qilby suspects he does. They may have successfully overturned some of his efforts at Silverglen, but the implication is that there's still plenty more he can do.]

[Crap. Caught.

She looks around as she comes up with an excuse, using the first one that comes to mind, trying to sound as snarky as possible, shrugging a bit, food stuck in her teeth as she grins and tries to talk her way out of it.]

Well, I don't see your name on it, buddy. Finders, keepers and all!

[wilder]

[Oh, he does pick up on the mild threat. But he doesn't let it get to him, or at least visibly so. He knows this guy is probably dangerous and is targeting him. Even if he doesn't get why.]

Heh, you'd be better off asking the peacekeeper types in my flight that question. Like with politics, I try to stay out of justice-keeping.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that's what the plate is for.

[he points towards the firepit]

There's plenty of food that way, my dear.

[persequor]

Hers, [ arya corrects carolina swiftly. ] Her name is Nymeria.

[ nymeria huffs in response to her name. for a vicious predator, she allows herself to be manhandled easily by a girl 1/3 of her weight. ]

Mmm. [A slight tilt of his head.] Neither a diplomat nor an arbiter... So what is it you do here, exactly?

[wilder]

[a slight shrug and stated very lightly]

Truthfully?

Not a whole lot.

[traitre]

[Goddess, what an asshole.

Some short, silent laughter.] Well then, I wouldn't worry overmuch if I were you. Everyone has their use.

[He watches Zelos' face for a long moment.] I'm sure we'll find yours soon enough.

Breaded frozen fish fingers found on Earth, dipped in custard. I had a touch of regeneration sickness that day, and nothing else tasted right.

[He still can't tolerate the taste of apples, in fact - but that's not unusual. His last regeneration loathed pears.]

Actually, I think my taste buds in this body might be a bit off, period. [He frowns a little at the thought.] Do you know, I tried jelly babies again not long before I came here, and they didn't taste the same at all? [Pause. Probably best to explain to the nice dragon lady that he's not actually eating babies.] Er, they're a sort of small sweet, not really jelly or babies.

[raggedydoc]

[The Doctor notices the change in the Master's health, but doesn't comment on it. Honestly, he's surprised the Master didn't come to eat the Red flight out of house and home.]

We don't exactly have any gourmet chefs; I'm afraid I've been surviving on berries and very rare bear. Did you decide it was time for a wardrobe change? [Pause.] I don't like it. Reminds me of that awful time in America.

[raggedydoc]

Of course they are! Just because humans think a combination is strange doesn't mean nobody else can eat it. [Honestly, Carolina, don't you know anything?]

[He can tell there's someone in the tree above him - someone lighter than a human adult, judging by the sound - but he doesn't look up until he hears the girl speak. Then he glances up with a smile for her; he's always liked children, after all. They see more than adults do, for one thing.]

Oh, it might not be what you're used to, but it's not bad. [Not to him, anyway. A human might see things differently.]

[beholdthedrums]

[He can't very well tell the Doctor to feed off the souls of others for an excellent gourmet meal.] If you regenerate due to starvation, I'll never let you live it down. Ever.

[He huffs.] Of course you don't like it. Maybe I did it because you wouldn't like it. [He grins extra wide and his posture changes as he jokingly flutters his eyes.] I think it really bring out my eyes, don't you? [All the power and chaos in his eyes, that is.

He shoves his hands back in his pockets and rolls his eyes.] It's called blending in. [Which neither of them have really cared to do before, but come on, dashing, ominous black clothing has always blended better than whatever the hell the Doctor was romping around in.]

[Bruce, not being that a social guy himself, doesn't really stick too close to the crowds once he's had his food and chatted with some people. Being not too close to people still is the best thing for him, really.

Still, if its just one on one Bruce is notably much better at that. Plus when it is somebody he knows - like the Doctor, who he's noticed lurking at the corner - Bruce is at least much amenable to talking. Besides, two people in a corner speaking is less conspicuous than one guy by himself anyway.]

Hello. [He says, as he approaches the Doctor with a friendly smile.]

[Since this is a pretty big area of interest to Bruce (especially since they are supposed to be fighting them, after all), he does come to listen once he realizes what is being spoken here.

For the most part through the talks he is silent, just taking it all into his mind and storing them for later perusal. Once she asks for questions, though, Bruce is one of the first to ask.]

Yes, if you don't mind. I would like to know more about this 'fel magic', if possible.

[now the squinting moves to the skinny bloke 'scolding' her.]

If you get sick because of your own meal choices, don't blame the Redsworn.

[hey, it's progress!] Not cousins to the ones our hosts were serving us when we first got here, I hope.

[a small smile for the whelps] They seem to like you. Or maybe just your food?

[ She'll have to ask one of the dragons here if feeding the babies leftovers should be avoided - the last thing they'd want is for one to get sick on their account. Or end up with bad habits. ]

Yeah, but it's more fun this way! I mean, come on, you should see your face right now!

[She tries to grab for more, obviously not taking no for an answer]

I ain't your dear, though. I get a penalty bite for that!

[Head tilts slightly in response]

Observe. Compare what we've observed regarding our common enemy. Working together is an end goal, but one that may take some time.

All right. Her. [A brow lifts but no offense is taken at the abrupt correction] And do you have a name, too?

[ overhear people calling her nan cough ]

[ she tilts forward on her toes like she might take flight. her eyes dance between the whelps and zelos. ]

Do you look after them?

For true?

[ though arya is quick to form her own opinions ( and quicker still to share them even if unasked for ), she makes an exception for the new. ]

Can I try it?
