A: COOKING FIRE SHENANIGANS

Feeling peckish? Have a delivery to make? Or just want to try your own hand at serving up some grub? The Redsworn's usual cooking area has been expanded for the evening, with two extra firepits dug out to cater for additional mouths. Over one fire burns the now "traditional" starter meat of bear flank, something any newly sworn (red or otherwise) will have the pleasure of sampling first. There's also several baskets of berries, fruit and vegetables, while a pot obtained in trade from Silverglen bubbles merrily.

B: FIRESIDE MINGLE

The redsworn of the Ruby Sanctum have claimed a corner of their own beneath one of the larger trees. There's a smaller fire here set for warmth and ambience, and have logs set about for seating for those who don't like perching on rocks or roots, or don't find the comfy grass comfy - park yourself and have a chat!

[If messing with one of the small dragons had any of the same consequences that he'd find in his sanctum, he wouldn't even dare. So at least there's that. He does file away in his mind where the nest was located, however, even if it might shift location in the future.]

[ Freeing her legs from the tiny claws reaching fro her, it takes her just a little bit longer to turn her back on them. ]

The sanctums are spacious for good reason. When they were created, your brethren were not in mind unfortunately.

[He does follow, of course, and steps up alongside her, hands in the pocket of his robe.]

Well, that's understandable. Why would you think the need? Most beings can't see something like this coming.

[ She wonders briefly if Nozdormu could have seen it coming; he likely did, but it isn't as if he could have warned them. Prepared them. ]

Change will come over time as each of the Dragonsworn work hard to accommodate themselves and all else who will come in the future.

[He was doing so well at managing something akin to respect, right up until he barks out a laugh.] Oh yes, because I'm sure all the Dragonsworn care to do so. [Which is true, whether she likes it or not.]

It is not my role to command them, only to guide and even then most of that is left to my children. With the help of Krasus and the rest of the dragonmages...

[ She stops, unsure of why he laughs. ] Have I made something akin to a joke?

You're hilarious, actually. [He stares at her. Wow. The value of sarcasm is lost on her, isn't it? Shame.] And you think all of the dragonmages can be trusted? [It's an honest question. He doesn't think they can all be trusted, but he only has experiences with Surion.]

[ Not entirely, but she won't be going out of her way to antagonize the younger ones nearby. ]

They cannot expect all to trust them, but I have placed all of my faith on Krasus. He is experienced, wise beyond a number of us, and will guide all accordingly.

Has he given you reason to misplace your faith?

Can't say I've really spoken with the guy, so I'll have to take your word on it. Surion, though, I'll trust with a grain of salt.

Surion. [ She repeats the name as if to recant it from her memory, but speaks no ill word of him. ]

He is one of Neltharion's children. You are Black Dragonsworn.

Neltharion? [That's a name he hasn't heard before. Maybe he can milk her for information...] I was told his name was "Deathwing." Rather ominous of him. [And the Master knows all about choosing names.]

My apologies--it appears some habits are more difficult to break than others.

[ That name, "Deathwing", is enough to cause her to frown. What a terrible title for the Earth-Warder to call himself. When she speaks of him though, her voice is soft and almost forgiving, her amiable presence shining through. ]

Neltharion the Earth-Warder is also known as Deathwing. You are one of his chosen.

[He takes careful note of her frown. Interesting.]

Ah, that makes sense then. Then yes, I am one of his. [He nods in agreement.] I suppose you can understand that he isn't the most chatty of folk! [Or maybe he actually is, but the Master despises talking with the dragon.] So I hope you can forgive my curiosity, you keep mentioning things I haven't heard before, like "Earth-Warder." What does that even mean?

[ She's very expressive unlike the rest of the Aspects and not once does she think she should hide her feelings. Why should she? Her encompassing love will draw them all back in towards her and they will all see reason soon enough. ]

Each of the Aspects have been blessed with influential power and in turn, we each have a title fitting of what we have been sworn to protect. Neltharion is--was, Neltharion was the Earth-Warder. His dominion is the earth we walk along and everything underneath the core, free to shift its form in any way he saw fit so long as it was the best course of action.

[On the inside, the Master is practically salivating over this information, but on the outside he looks sympathetic, and lowers his voice to something more quiet and hesitant.]

From what you're saying, it sounds like it would rude to ask what changed all that...

It is not my answer to give. [ Lowering her gaze even more. Nothing pains her more than having to keep information from someone, but he is Black Dragonsworn. ]

Surely this Surion would tell it to you if you asked him, would he not?

[beholdthedrums]

[He figured as much, but he had to try. Test his limits and all that.]

I think Surion likes his secrets. [He gives her a smile.] It helps him appear enigmatic. But maybe I'll ask him when I get home from this, quite lovely, little party. Your dragonsworn have done a nice job putting it all together.

It is through the efforts of many that this is a success. Remember that it is easier to do good with the help from all instead of taking it upon yourself.

[ It isn't entirely directed at him as it's just a blanket statement, but she does lift her gaze with a smile. ]

Does he prefer to keep secrets? They always have. That is what makes them endearing.

[It's also easier to do evil with the help from all.

But she doesn't need to hear that from him. He is playing the role of Good Guy, after all. For now.]

I'm not sure "endearing" is the word I would use in particular [maybe "pain in my ass"] but then I'm not a dragon.

[ She just has a soft spot for all of the world's children, even the ones who are being led astray by Neltharion during his goth phase. ]

Forgive me, I forget that the younger ones are not wholly aware.

The loss of life has been painful to all, not just myself. [ Shaking her head. ]

There was little that can be done to counter that. All we can do is strive to preserve the ones who breathe in the air and help them heal from all wounds, including the ones inflicted with grief.

I think, though in a state of disarray, the dragonsworn will be able to... make a difference, at least. [Whether for her benefit or not (likely "or not").] With time. "Help from all." [He echoes her earlier words.]
