A: COOKING FIRE SHENANIGANS

Feeling peckish? Have a delivery to make? Or just want to try your own hand at serving up some grub? The Redsworn's usual cooking area has been expanded for the evening, with two extra firepits dug out to cater for additional mouths. Over one fire burns the now "traditional" starter meat of bear flank, something any newly sworn (red or otherwise) will have the pleasure of sampling first. There's also several baskets of berries, fruit and vegetables, while a pot obtained in trade from Silverglen bubbles merrily.

B: FIRESIDE MINGLE

The redsworn of the Ruby Sanctum have claimed a corner of their own beneath one of the larger trees. There's a smaller fire here set for warmth and ambience, and have logs set about for seating for those who don't like perching on rocks or roots, or don't find the comfy grass comfy - park yourself and have a chat!

Wash had looked around a little in the areas where the sworn had gathered, but he was a little nervous about potentially upsetting the dragon hosts. Even if Carolina had invited him, he remembers how... Unwelcoming the portal feels.

His raptor was near him as he sat by the fire, begging as Wash had gotten some food, though there's a bit extra meat he grabbed for the animal. But until the raptor stops, it's not getting the food. "Behave yourself. I fed you earlier."

If you come near with food, beware of the blue raptor. It wouldn't injure someone, but it would happily steal their food.

Asch has actually been enjoying himself so far, which is rare. The relief of the relative calm after the kidnapping incident lingers on, it seems, and he's relatively unguarded as he makes his way through the small Red Flight and friends gathering.

Not so unguarded that he misses the raptor, though, and definitely not so unguarded that he's about to let his meal get stolen. Asch quickly sidesteps when he sees the critter going for him, lifting his plate up and away from the raptor's jaws. His right hand goes for his sword, but he doesn't draw it. Somehow, he manages all of this without dumping his food everywhere. He shoots Wash a brief look, then glares back down at the raptor. He's used to the monsters from his homeworld being intelligent and the raptors here have done little to make him think they aren't, either. Thus, he doesn't think anything of it when he addresses Wash's pet directly.

"Get your own food."

Wash let out a sigh as the raptor changed its strategy from trying to steal to trying to beg for food with a whine. "Get over here. Stop bothering the other guests here. I'd rather not have to explain to Carolina you managing to make a nuisance of yourself in the Sanctum for her flight."

He looks at Asch, sheepish. "Sorry about that. I haven't had the raptor around such a large group of people before. Especially not anything like this."

Asch stares down at the whining raptor, face impassive--or at least, he tries to keep his expression that way. There's evidence of puzzled amusement there and he doesn't try to stop himself from engaging in further conversation.

They really are strangely similar dogs, aren't they? "Is he always so friendly to strangers?"

Wash is actually a bit embarrassed at his raptor. "When it thinks it might get something from said stranger? Unfortunately, I think so." Tossing the raptor a piece of meat to get it away from Asch.

"Wasn't this friendly to the one group of elves. I think it depends on the situation."

"Maybe it depends on you." Apparently Asch is content to continue his conversation, so he finds himself a nearby seat.

He's assuming Wash is talking about the run-in with night elves and the kidnapping, so he adds: "I can't imagine you were too happy with the elves." Certainly not happy enough to sit around enjoying a meal and chiding his greedy raptor.

"You mean, seeing as I am not pissed at you, the raptor recognizes that?" The got Wash to pause.

"You make a good point. I didn't exactly feel happy with the people planning to execute me for being kidnapped and dragged here. At least, kill me for something I did, not because I was sworn to the group that they don't like." He's bristling a little. "I've done nothing to hurt anyone here."

"Exactly. Even normal animals react to their master's moods."

Asch wasn't quite expecting the vehemence from Wash, but it's not like he's never encountered someone this open before. He nods in agreement with Wash's sentiments.

"I think if they had any choice, most people here would have already walked away from the conflict." Asch actually doesn't consider himself to be among them, but he's not sure he's capable of resenting the people who would.

"And I suspect that the raptor is a bit more than just a normal animal."

Wash has always been the open type. Just ask Carolina. She'd probably have stories to tell.

Washington pauses at that. "Honestly, I don't know that I'd walk away from it, if I thought it was the right thing to do... It's just, I'd prefer to be blamed for something I actually did. Not something someone else did. I've done things myselr, after all."
