Who: Zelos and Redsworn
What: Zelos is bored, thus people suffer.

[Zelos had no idea demonic apocalypses could be so...dull.]

[Okay, maybe that was the wrong word for it. But to Zelos, it's felt as though he's done nothing but train, gather supplies and fight demons for the past several months. And what the only village being a complete boondocks and the fact he didn't get along with a lot of the other Sworn- he couldn't help but start to feel a little like he was going nuts from the repetition. Even in Exsilium he had a job, books to read and a roommate to harrass. Not to mention a bed and a shower. This was painful!]

[And unfortunately for the Sworn, Zelos's boredom had a habit of turning on others.]

[So for the people that hang around the Ruby Sanctum, they might be finding themselves to be the victims of pranks and little annoyances. Practicing your fire? It might suddenly flare up a little (never enough to be dangerous- just startling). Sitting under the shade of the tree? You may have to watch out for falling nuts. Set something down and walked away for a bit? Wow, how did it move ten feet into the bush? Or maybe you found your armor has been painted on! Or any other assortment of mostly harmless, but irritating things]

[Or maybe you got lucky and avoided Zelos's pestering. Instead you might just find him sitting by the lake, looking perpetually bored out of his mind.]

Why should I worry about that? I got you down there!

[And with that, he throws another acorn]

[Someone older, someone calmer, someone in a better headspace would have walked away. That someone would deprive him of his fun. Not Vas.]

[She bats the thrown acorn away, and dashes at the tree. When it looks almost like she's about to run into it, she leaps up-]

[And her hooves find purchase exactly where she wanted them to. It might appear to fly in the face of all reason, but each step she takes is surefooted and steady. She easily pulls herself up to his height, shaking the tree's limbs as she hoists herself up.]

[And his eyes widen at the sight. You'd think it was intimidation, except-]

Wow! How'd you climb a tree with your hooves?

[She answers him with an annoyed growl, reaching out to grab at him. Which would be fine if they were on the ground, but they're not. They're in an oak tree, on a limb that was not meant to bear a 500-pound load. Each step she takes forward shakes the tree, a reminder of just how little is between them and a 15-foot drop to the ground.]

[Yeah, so moving back away from her grab, further out onto the branch. The branch is very much whining in protest of these two on there, though he still seems to move with relative ease. Angels are much more adept at being high up than others, after all.]

You can hear that right? The tree? Or is it just me?

[She hears the bough groaning and feels it in each step, but she refrains from answering him immediately. She has him cornered here, and since she's the heavier of the two, she has more control over how hard the branch shakes.]

[At least from her view, she appears to have the upper hand here.]

I can hear it just fine. But do you really want to stay here and find out how long it can hold the both of us?

[Yeah he's...so raising an eyebrow at her]

Haha...I really don't think this is gonna work out how you think it's gonna work out.

[But still, he rather not have the branch break and have to fix up a bruised paladin. So he's looking up and around for another viable branch to jump up onto. When he finds a good candidate on the next tree, he uses the next shake to leap off the branch and reach out for the next one- grabbing onto it and pulling himself up with a grunt]

[She grits her teeth and bares them at him, her tail flicking viciously to each side. But she stops herself from chasing after him, and instead steadies herself by grabbing ahold of some of the nearby branches.]

[She yells something at him in Eredun before she tries to find a way back down.]

[Oh good she's not going to try to climb after him. But wow, is she mad over some acorns. Not even Sheena would get this fired up over something as little as a couple acorns. It's rather..curious]

[He climbs up fully onto his branch, scooting close to the tree again so it can support his weight better and calling down]

Hey, if you're gonna swear at me, at least do it in Common!

[Vas plucks a couple of acorns off a nearby branch and throws them at him.]

You're a pest, Kaneis Major!

[Whoa acorns! One smacks him on the cheek, but it mostly just makes him flinch a little and not show that much pain]

A pest? That's your insult?

That's almost kinda cute!

[She rolls a third acorn between her fingers. Oh, if only the Light would bless her aim and hit him right in the mouth... She tries to bury that thought. It's not becoming of a Vindicator.]

But no less true!

Maybe, maybe.

Though gotta say? If I'm a pest, then you gotta be high strung. I mean seriously! Talk about a reaction!

[Are you sure you don't want to try your luck with shoving it down his throat?]

[She snorts at him and turns to climb back down, only to find that her metal shoes have stripped the bark she used to push herself up. She huffs and makes a rude gesture at him, and then takes off running down the tree's limb. She bounces off it like a springboard, tossing herself into the air-]

[A set of golden wings form at her back, and slow her fall to a slow glide. She sails past him, and she takes the opportunity to hurl her last acorn at him.]

[Oh, he doesn't notice the last acorn even smack him straight in the head- because WINGS]

[GODDAMN GOLDEN WINGS]

[Frankly, they surprise him so much he nearly falls out of the tree. When he shouts, it's clear he's very not happy by this plot twist]

What the hell!?

[A very poorly-hidden, childish, vindictive part of her lights up with delight at his anger and confusion. It's not something she's supposed to enjoy, by any means, but it does feel good. It's the first little victory she's had in entirely too long, however petty it may be.]

[She dusts herself off and straightens her robe, and tries not to smile too much.]

[It sure is a little victory. Zelos is still startled by the wings. Because let's face it, wings are rarely a sign of anything good to him]

[He rubs the part of his head that got smacked. As if remembering, oh yeah, he DID get hit.]

Hey, c'mon! What gives! What's with the wings?
