Quest Log: Suit Up!
Who: Dragon mages and dragonsworn.
What: You have been given a quest to infiltrate Sin'thalas and rescue your fellow dragonsworn. Also discussion of scrying orbs.
Where: The sanctums.
When: May 4th and ongoing for a week.
Warnings: Please PM the mods if needed.
Despite the chaos surrounding the disappearances of several Dragonsworn, your sanctum's dragon mage is trying to be calm about this. After a brief discussion behind the scenes with the others, he or she has returned.
"Gather 'round, I have some grave news. Several Dragonsworn have gone missing. We found them, but we are unable to rescue them by ourselves. It would look very bad if dragons were to attack a settlement. That is why we are asking you for help.
"Southeast of Suramar is a village named Sin'thalas. It is these elves who have taken and imprisoned the Dragonsworn. Whether you negotiate or use force to ensure the return of your brethren, it will not be easy. These elves are highly-trained and knowledgeable, far from the refugees you may have seen in the Retreat.
"In light of this, we have implemented a system to communicate over great distances." The dragon mage unveils a magical orb nearby, the perfect size for gazing. "This is a scrying orb. Approach it and think of Sin'thalas, and you will be seen and heard from the orb at that location. It also works in reverse. This should allow us to coordinate our movements depending on the flow of the situation.
"I urge you to think carefully about how best to retrieve your fellow Dragonsworn. You are yet a small force and highly outnumbered. We cannot afford to lose any of you."
[ooc: If characters want to use the orbs,
lookingformore is now OPEN. Remember, orbs CANNOT connect from sanctum to sanctum!]

/drops half an intro in here too
The past couple of hours have had Naminé trying to deal with her situation, finding herself being very unhappy for what appears to be another world. Its not necessarily the distance or separation from her supposed home, but the fact that she had done everything that she needed to do, tied up loose ends and saw to it that everyone else had a safe way to get home, and was content enough to phase out of existence... Only to end up here? That's what bothered her the most
She'd been spending the last little while away from others, not wanting to seen be anyone else and hiding herself behind a group of sand dunes. She was determined to make her portals work, to find a way out somehow and get back, but to add to her grief and to the amusement of some passing dragons, nothing worked. Not even the slightest flicker in the air appeared before her.
That alone was distressing. Naminé's always had some trouble creating portals in the past, but she's gotten better ever since she could practice. But something was just off about this. The world around her, her very existence and presence here, he abilities (or so she's assuming)... everything just feels off. Enough for her to come out of her little hiding spot and try to seek answers from someone.
Luckily for her, there a group of people ahead, a discussion lead by a bipedal female cow. Unfortunately for Naminé, they all seem to be talking about something very serious, with names and terms she's never heard of before, making her linger away, trying to stay out of the way and as out of sight as she can be.]
...People have been captured...? [Naminé's quiet, but her expression is worrisome. Usually its Sora just running into these kinds of issues in new worlds. She barely has any experience in something like this.]
no subject
[ Whether he was speaking to her or his daughter isn't stated, though he will stop to stand beside the newcomer. ]
no subject
She glances at him, curious and looking him over, but not knowing who he was referring to, she's unsure and hesitant to speak up for a moment. He does look like someone of authority.]
...I'm sorry?
no subject
One arrivesss, another leavesss. It isss all the sssame here.
[ Don't mind the old guy, he's a bit weird not unlike the talking cow over there. ]
If you have quessstionsss, be quick about it. There are other mattersss to tend to.
no subject
Her expression sobers a little. Rude as that feels, he does have a point. She has far too many questions and not enough time right now to ask them. More important things are at stake and she has gotten over the whole freaked out reaction too.
...Making a mental note to approach the cow lady about questions later. Maybe it's just her, but she seems a little bit more approachable and patient.]
How many people were taken?
no subject
It would be unwissse to give an exact number. [ Meaning he knows more than he cares to let on, but for some reason keeps it to himself. The cost of watching the flow of time. ] Two of our dragonsssworn have been abducted.
A newcomer like yourssself and another who arrived ssshortly before.
Inexperience led to their capture. Do not repeat their missstake, learn from it.
no subject
[But disapproval aside, she shouldn't anger him, especially in a situation like this. Naminé rubs one elbow with a hand, unnerved by this dragonsworn term he used. But there is so much to ask...]
Who are you? [Knowing who this one is would be a good start.]
no subject
[ Or more importantly: the guy who doesn't need to waste his time with introductions, but is bored enough to do so. ]
Isss it not proper to give me your name firssst, child?
no subject
[A glance back at the rest of the group and she's reminded of the cow lady. This guy looks odd too with those elongated ears, but he's relatively human in appearance.] The two of you... you work together?
no subject
Lanadormi isss my child like many of the othersss found within thessse dunesss.
[ Though like most fathers, it's likely he answers to her instead of it being the other way around. What a sucker. ]
no subject
How Lana tolerates him will be a secret, sheesh.] I see. And, where exactly is this place?
no subject
You will find you are far, far away from the place you may consssider home.
[ Consider, spoken as if there's doubt there. ]
no subject
...Is there no way to get back?
no subject
Will you not fight them asss you have been called here to do?
no subject
You... brought me here to fight for you? [There are so many more qualified candidates from her universe.]
...Why me?
no subject
[ Doesn't seem like he'll be giving her a straight answer, what a load of help this one is. ]
Look inssside yourssself and sssee, child.
no subject
She doesn't answer, just looking away again. It's not worth an answer or arguing about it.]
But you're... a dragon right? Why can't you fight?
no subject
[ He really is a jerk. ]
