Quest Log: Suit Up!
Who: Dragon mages and dragonsworn.
What: You have been given a quest to infiltrate Sin'thalas and rescue your fellow dragonsworn. Also discussion of scrying orbs.
Where: The sanctums.
When: May 4th and ongoing for a week.
Warnings: Please PM the mods if needed.
Despite the chaos surrounding the disappearances of several Dragonsworn, your sanctum's dragon mage is trying to be calm about this. After a brief discussion behind the scenes with the others, he or she has returned.
"Gather 'round, I have some grave news. Several Dragonsworn have gone missing. We found them, but we are unable to rescue them by ourselves. It would look very bad if dragons were to attack a settlement. That is why we are asking you for help.
"Southeast of Suramar is a village named Sin'thalas. It is these elves who have taken and imprisoned the Dragonsworn. Whether you negotiate or use force to ensure the return of your brethren, it will not be easy. These elves are highly-trained and knowledgeable, far from the refugees you may have seen in the Retreat.
"In light of this, we have implemented a system to communicate over great distances." The dragon mage unveils a magical orb nearby, the perfect size for gazing. "This is a scrying orb. Approach it and think of Sin'thalas, and you will be seen and heard from the orb at that location. It also works in reverse. This should allow us to coordinate our movements depending on the flow of the situation.
"I urge you to think carefully about how best to retrieve your fellow Dragonsworn. You are yet a small force and highly outnumbered. We cannot afford to lose any of you."
[ooc: If characters want to use the orbs,
lookingformore is now OPEN. Remember, orbs CANNOT connect from sanctum to sanctum!]

RED FLIGHT

Wait- seriously? Do we know why they snatched them up?
no subject
They want to see how we react.
What we do will likely reflect on the hostages.

You haven't considered using your magic to attempt to bring them back, hm? No portals or tearing into anything?
no subject
[Hah, if only it were so easy he could just portal them out of wherever.]
Antagonizing them further is not something I recommend, and using magic in such an open way would certainly heighten the aggression-- even if it were possible.

Re: RED FLIGHT
Especially if they were dealing with an army who took hostages. Still, she has some experience with reconnaissance, and it would be improper not to offer it. Thus, she stands off to the side in her new red and gold mishmoshed armor, arms folded with the giant blue eagle, Valor, scraping the ground for something to amuse himself with.]
I have a suggestion, if anyone wishes to hear it.
[She won't demand to be heard by anyone -- her voice is steady, if not mildly anxious. There were lives at stake after all.]

He raised a hand to forestall the inevitable complaints. "Hear me out! Our true enemy is the Burning Legion! If we attack Sin'thalas, we are only making another enemy out of them! We can't afford to do that without making an effort to reconcile with them! If diplomacy fails, we can always try a rescue by stealth or force, but we need to try to make friends before we make enemies!
"I'll volunteer to go talk to them directly," he continued, "because no one really minds if I get captured or killed for the efforts, and that'll be a good sign of their intent. However, we need to immediately get the other flights behind this plan! If they act, the Sin'thalas elves will most likely view their actions as speaking for all of us and condemn us all accordingly!"

"The belief of nothing to lose is not a good mindset when dealing with those who will take others without reasons." She crossed her arms over her chest and sighed. "Diplomacy has a place in the situation now but not from someone with such a mindset. Someone who is not so careful with their words will likely easily upset them. I will not see them doomed because someone can't watch their tongue." Because Vastania mattered far more to her then all of her anger, grudges and much else.

[ Nowi reaches up to tug at her own ears as if that will help the situation any. ]
Can they be negotiated with? Give us back our people and Nowi will show them how to make their armor shinier.
[ At least the first half of that statement can be taken seriously. The rest... well, it's Nowi. ]

We meet again!
[ It was inevitable they would, but at the time she was under the impression her new companion was going to be busy for a while. The thinned numbers here aren't all that noticeable to the woman who has yet to experience the other Dragonsworn, but it's as if she can feel the heavy cloak that wraps around their minds. It was something heavy, perhaps she could help? With a hopeful look in her eyes, she pinches the thick fabric of her dress to pull it up away from her slippers to keep from tripping on it as she approaches. ]
What is it that troubles you? [ Anyone else is free to recognize there's a newbie, but she might need more than a "Hey you!" to be pulled away from the task of acquiring Zerigosa's attention. ]

/drops half an intro in here too
The past couple of hours have had Naminé trying to deal with her situation, finding herself being very unhappy for what appears to be another world. Its not necessarily the distance or separation from her supposed home, but the fact that she had done everything that she needed to do, tied up loose ends and saw to it that everyone else had a safe way to get home, and was content enough to phase out of existence... Only to end up here? That's what bothered her the most
She'd been spending the last little while away from others, not wanting to seen be anyone else and hiding herself behind a group of sand dunes. She was determined to make her portals work, to find a way out somehow and get back, but to add to her grief and to the amusement of some passing dragons, nothing worked. Not even the slightest flicker in the air appeared before her.
That alone was distressing. Naminé's always had some trouble creating portals in the past, but she's gotten better ever since she could practice. But something was just off about this. The world around her, her very existence and presence here, he abilities (or so she's assuming)... everything just feels off. Enough for her to come out of her little hiding spot and try to seek answers from someone.
Luckily for her, there a group of people ahead, a discussion lead by a bipedal female cow. Unfortunately for Naminé, they all seem to be talking about something very serious, with names and terms she's never heard of before, making her linger away, trying to stay out of the way and as out of sight as she can be.]
...People have been captured...? [Naminé's quiet, but her expression is worrisome. Usually its Sora just running into these kinds of issues in new worlds. She barely has any experience in something like this.]

[ in true blacksworn manner, these are the first words out of riven's mouth; she scarcely waits for surion to finish speaking before voicing her protest. ]
Were any of ours foolish enough to get caught, we should leave them. And if they belong to another flight... [ she trails off. clearly, the issue with that should be self-explanatory. shouldn't it? ]

Doesn't mean he actually cares.
What he is interested in is experimenting further on his ability to steal peoples' energies. See who it doesn't work on. What better than a bunch of useless elves?
A second quiet wonder is if the Doctor had the nerve to be one of people captured from another flight. Well, he deserves it, if that's the case.
He smirks. "What are we waiting for then?" he asks coolly. "We wouldn't want anything bad to happen to them." He doesn't for a moment sound like he gives a damn for any of their safety. Ulterior motives, anyone?

A few others also expressed interest in joining her, which is why she waits just outside the Retreat proper, a stalwart form unmoving, cloak hanging over her aqua armor.
She'll only wait so long before entering. Now it was simply a matter of waiting. ]
