Who: Yuan Ka-Fai, anyone in the Ruby Sanctum
What: Going from angel to mortal in under ten seconds, aka arrival post
Where: The Ruby Sanctum
When: May 5
Warnings: Probably some mild swearing

Suddenly appearing in a strange new place is not, in and of itself, enough to knock Yuan from his feet.

What is enough is the fact that the air is cold in his lungs, and he's breathing like it's something he needs to do, and his limbs are heavy in a way they haven't been in years. He tries to move, takes a step, staggers and leans against a wall for balance. His clothes are a tangible presence against his skin, and the texture of the wall is rough and cool.

"What...what did that bastard do to me?" His voice is oddly distant to his ears, and he squints as he stares out at the crowd of dragons before him, his vision less clear than he's accustomed to. Upset and vulnerable, he decides to stay put for the moment until he can get his bearings and regain some equilibrium.

Zelos is the one that spots Yuan first. It was simply out of the corner of his eye, something blue suddenly appearing. Being here a few months, he knew that was probably a sign of a new arrival. He honestly was expecting to see yet another draenei from the blue. Since hey, the Red Flight seemed to enjoy taking them in.

He did not expect to recognize the new arrival, and his surprised reaction shows that much.

"Son of a bitch...! Yuan?!"

Nor, does it seem, is he very happy about it. It'll probably click in a second that Yuan needs help. But right now, his mind is reeling from the fact that out of all people, the Red Flight brought that guy in?

...

Then again, at least it was better than Kratos.

He was sitting before, but now he's standing. His hand hangs near his sword, but there's no moves to draw it yet. Just...caution.

"Oh you know me, I just love getting into wars that have nothing to do with me." There's an eyeroll that accompanies the snark. "I got dragged into this mess same way you did."

He tilts his head as he looks down at Yuan. The guy does not look very well, possibly even worse than he did when he arrived. Though, that wasn't too unsurprising considering how much longer Yuan had been an angel.

He does consider not answering for a couple seconds- but alas. Even Zelos has limits of how jerkish he can be. So he gives a little sigh as he answers. "Yeah, sorta. The method they use to bring people in's got some serious flaws - powers getting lost and stuff like that." Or into an undead...whatever Shirley was now. It made him queasy just thinking about how he dodged that bullet.

"The good new for you is you're not sick or dying or anything. You're just not an angel anymore."

"Beats me," He gives a simple shrug. "People usually just tell me to stick 'em with a sword."

It wasn't that Zelos was all that fond of his powers. Honestly, in any other circumstances, he'd welcome the return to being a normal human. But in a war against an army of demons, well, even he couldn't deny he was missing having all those powers that came with being an angel.

There's a soft snort of amusement from him. He had to admit, it's a bit carthartic to watch Yuan go through the same problems he had on arrival but worse. Not only did it make him feel less inept himself, but let's face it. His feelings for Yuan while less volatile than his feelings for Mithos and Kratos, were not exactly on the warm and fuzzy side of the spectrum.

Still, he'll stand by in case the guy falls flat on his face. Not so much out of concern, but it'd be more work for him later anyway.

But he's not really expecting gratitude out of Yuan's voice, since hey that's not a thing you hear. "Well let's see....there's an armory around if you don't have anything, we're expected to get our own food and supplies, the only friendly place around is an elf village and- oh yeah, another elf village kidnapped some of us and we're trying to figure out what to do there."

"Annnd that about sums it up!"

Valamia is not in a good mood. It's never a good mood when she's trying to figure out the best way to get a member of her family back. While she's stuck pacing through the sanctum it isn't hard to miss a man with blue hair that looks more out of place then either her or Vastania does. She can still be civil or at least try. "Hey." she's going to go over to him and give him a quick look over. He doesn't look like he's bleeding out. That's good.

"I'm guessing you're one of the people the dragons decided to drag into this mess, huh?" She could be open, honest and tell him all about everything. On the other hand he might not be ready for that or he might have a clue already. She might as well make sure he's in a decent state of mind before they could possibly try and talk out everything.

It takes her a second to remember that not everyone had seen a Draenei. She probably looks as weird to him as humans look to her. He did seem like more rattled then she had been when she showed up. Not that it was much of a comparison. "I do." She'll sigh. Oh the mess that everyone was in right now. The problem was she had no idea where to start.

"Lets see...the dragon mages who brought us here did so to fight against the Burning Legion. The Burning Legion is a mass army of demons who have corrupted races, destroyed worlds and caused immeasurable amounts of destruction. They are also a force that has not been completely defeated in over tens of thousands of years. To my knowledge all anyone has done is either flee them, succumb to them or delay their invasions." She realizes that maybe, just maybe, that is a bit too blunt. False hope wasn't going to do a whole lot of good at the moment and she was not in the mood to offer it.

Oh yeah, he can definitely pick up on how Yuan feels about that. It causes a slight eyebrow raise, but he says nothing about it. He remembers how Heimdall treats half-elves, who could blame one for not liking the elves?

"Who you know?" He considers. "Not sure. Genis's here, but he's in another flight so I haven't heard about him yet, one way or the other. He's the only other person from our worlds I know about."

Sure, there were people that Zelos knew personally- but he wasn't exactly going to share his own personal concerns with Yuan.

Attacked his world as well? She could push that and figure out if it was truly the Legion but it seems better to focus on keeping him informed. She could answer her own curiosity later. They likely has plenty of time unless things took a turn from worse to horrible.

"They believe that we our help they can drive the Legion back. The Legion doesn't always chase after the strongest targets. By proving that this place can hold its own, it might cause them to leave. In my personal belief, I think the dragons are simply hoping that everything will work out with no reason to believe it will." Because summoning people into a war that most of them don't know about or know who their fighting tends to end poorly. In her experience throwing the Burning Legion into it makes the situation ten times worse.

"You and me both." She was content to live a nice and normal life. The getting dragged into a war from the enemy that drove them from her home world isn't appealing at all. She can't figure anyone else wants to fight a possibly unstoppable force. "Ah, Valamia. I would say nice to meet you but the situation isn't exactly great meeting terms."

Oh. Yuan picked up on that huh? He had forgotten the guy could be observant when he choose to be.

"Huh? Oh- about a month and a half?" He thinks it's been that long...it was a little hard to tell when there was no calendar around. "And then before here I was in some other place for a little over a year."

....Yeah. He knew that probably sounded crazy.

"It's a long story."

Awhile since they talked? Hm, that's curious. But Zelos holds up his hands in defense.

"Hey, I'd like to think my lies are more believable than that...!" Not that he wouldn't lie, but please. He was better at it. Still, he was right in that it was reaching that point where Zelos was getting more difficult with his answers. "But alright, believe what you'd like. Doesn't make all that much difference to me what you think."

To say she's surprised by his general demeanor would be an understatement as well. Between everything she's been under the assumption people would either be running around like rampant talbulk or busy in a corner lamenting about everything. "I have a bit of time. There is a lot to cover. I'm also far from an expert in most things aside from encounters with the Legion and their history with my people." She shrugs as an attempt to remain both casual and keep some of her own frustrations under wraps. People appearing and people disappearing. Such a great week.
