(no subject)

Who: Yuan Ka-Fai, anyone in the Ruby Sanctum
What: Going from angel to mortal in under ten seconds, aka arrival post
Where: The Ruby Sanctum
When: May 5
Warnings: Probably some mild swearing

Suddenly appearing in a strange new place is not, in and of itself, enough to knock Yuan from his feet.

What is enough is the fact that the air is cold in his lungs, and he's breathing like it's something he needs to do, and his limbs are heavy in a way they haven't been in years. He tries to move, takes a step, staggers and leans against a wall for balance. His clothes are a tangible presence against his skin, and the texture of the wall is rough and cool.

"What...what did that bastard do to me?" His voice is oddly distant to his ears, and he squints as he stares out at the crowd of dragons before him, his vision less clear than he's accustomed to. Upset and vulnerable, he decides to stay put for the moment until he can get his bearings and regain some equilibrium.

To say she's surprised by his general demeanor would be an understatement as well. Between everything she's been under the assumption people would either be running around like rampant talbulk or busy in a corner lamenting about everything. "I have a bit of time. There is a lot to cover. I'm also far from an expert in most things aside from encounters with the Legion and their history with my people." She shrugs as an attempt to remain both casual and keep some of her own frustrations under wraps. People appearing and people disappearing. Such a great week.

It's a quality she can appreciate. At the moment too many of them were unsettled and she was too close to it for comfort. There was a somewhat simple solution to her problems but it would take a bit of time. Waiting around was never her strong suit. If she could be useful for the time by sharing information it was something. A distraction.

"I'm a Draenei. My people have endured much thanks to the Legion and it is a history that spans tens of thousands of years, all the way back Argus. The world that used to be our home before the Legion came." She rubs her temples, her way of keeping herself together through the memories of the fall of Argus. "I can tell you of what happened. It is not the most useful but it does provide some insight."

She chuckles and rests her hand on her hip. She must be getting older if she's becoming that obvious for people to read. Perhaps between everything the stress of everything was truly that obvious. Oh to be losing her grip on keeping herself composed. "Part of it is important, as it teaches the lengths the Legion can go to but very well. Another time. It is possible to slay a demon by spell or sword. The main problem is that their force is far greater than ours will probably ever hope to be. Their forces can overtake a world, turn people against each other. All in all, for every demon one runs through there are plenty more to replace it."

"As much as you and I. It is part of what makes them so difficult to fend off. They can find weak links and pick at them. They can turn your most powerful allies into your greatest foes." And she had seen that more times than she could count. It was, sadly, to be expected with a lifespan as long as hers is. A lifetime of fleeing the Legion led to more and more insight on them and how utterly chaotic they are.

"The Legion hasn't pressed any attacks during my time here. As for resources we've got some of the basics handled, it looks like the dragons managed an armory here. We do at the moment have a problem that surpasses the Legion being on the doorstep of every flight." As is normal for dealing with the Legion. They existed and their chaotic and destructive force was never unleashed right away. They seemed to like playing games with people. It was an eternal game of cat and mouse for the Draenei. Unfortunately they were always the mouse.

"It seems some of the local elves don't like us being here and decided to capture some of us. At the moment we don't know what sort of state or condition they're being kept in." She wasn't going to believe anyone was being killed. She was too emotionally invested in one of the captives to consider the idea. "None of our forces are strong enough to simply storm in and take them back."
