wide eyed, panic on the getaway [closed to greens]

Who: Another new Greensworn. Aka newbiesworn.
What: oh god why is this happening this isn't cool guys!
Where: Emerald Sanctum
When: Today (July 8th).
Warnings UMMMM. Well if Sora shows up except getting cavities?

"No, wait!" Kairi shouts after the dragons, not ready to be dumped off in her new home. "You don't understand, I have to get back! I have to make sure they're okay--!" All her hollering doesn't seem to matter and she finds herself in the dark cave. It isn't as great of a shock as the green flames had been not too long ago, but she still draws herself up tight, looking around herself with rising panic.

This... this wasn't good at all! She'd be more willing to help these people if she knew about Sora and Riku and the King and... She has to go back!

But...

That didn't seem to be much of an option by the look of her surroundings.

"Hello?" she calls. She chews at her lip. Well... Standing around forever doesn't help her, but she doesn't particularly want to get near the dragons. Except they seem to be sleeping, so she tiptoes past them and towards the underbrush...

As happenstance had it, Rose was on her way to the portal so she could leave the Sanctum and go find a certain pirate king. The young woman had a black leather jacket on, jeans, and a rather large sword across her back. She was also munching on an apple and when she finished it, she casually threw the core away.

And since she wasn't expecting anything in the underbrush except maybe the tail of a sleeping dragon that wouldn't notice if the core bounced off it, she accidentally hit the new dragonsworn with it. She didn't even notice as her thoughts were elsewhere and she was focused on what she needed to do.

Whatever Kairi had expected to "attack her," an apple core was certainly not on that list, but it's enough to cause her to jump in surprise. "W-What??" And then she's whirling around to face the direction it came from, as though she had anything she could possibly use to defend herself (what, there were Heartless that used bananas, okay).

But it's just a woman.

Kairi blinks.

Normally she might be offended if someone tossed an apple core at her, but this is another person, so Kairi rushes after her. "Excuse me!"

At that, Rose stopped and looked over her shoulder, brow furrowed. How had she missed there being someone nearby? Ugh, she was letting her guard down too much in the Sanctum. Yes, it was home and the only place she could really relax, but she still needed to be more alert.

And she didn't recognize this girl.

"Oh, hey. You must be new."

Kairi frowns and turns to look back towards the cave she came out of, and then back and the woman. She nods. "Yeah, I guess you could say that."

She doesn't exactly know how she feels about this whole thing. "They made it sound like I was stuck here for now..."

"Unfortunately, you kind of are. Sorry about that." Rose offered a small smile. "But the good news is that they've got your world in a time-freeze until we take care of this demon problem."

She turned back around to face the girl. "I'm Rose. Welcome to the Emerald Sanctum."

"I was afraid of that..." More problems to worry about, except Xemnas was taken care of at least, right? But she did like the sound of a time-freeze.

"I'm Kairi." She smiles. "It's nice to meet you, Rose, and thank you. Have you... been here long?"

"A few months." Maybe a bit longer. "I came with the initial wave of dragonsworn."

She blinks. A few months? Initial wave?

"How much... progress have you made since then?"

Let's see here. They've had a bunch of elves capture them, declare their taking their anger at the dragons out on them, had the one village that used to trust them change their opinion because someone's a convincing liar, the dragons are keeping something extremely important from them and through all that... All they've managed to do is kill a handful of demon scouring parties and take care of one corrupted Care Bear hollow.

"Only a little, but this really isn't something we can do in a few days. It's a little hard when just about everyone is against you when they should be smarter than that and some of the other flights have a serious case of too many chiefs, not enough Indians." Rose then gave a little smile. "Luckily, you're Greensworn. We're the one flight that's got our shit together."

"Months" are a little more than a few days, but Kairi doesn't mention that.

"How many of these other 'flights' are there?" She should be worried about her friends, but... well. She feels much more relaxed that she's seen another person, and it's Sora and Riku. If they're here, they'll turn up, or what really has likely happened is that they're already knee-deep into trouble.

Kairi can at least gather some information so she can help them out.

Months might as well be days in this stupid land with everything living so long and having no real concept of time.

"There are four other flights: Red, Blue, Bronze and Black. We get along with the Redsworn pretty well, though they tend to be really hotheaded and extremely Champions of Justice hero-types. The Bluesworn are okay. They're kind of quiet and reserved. I don't know much about the Bronzesworn and the Blacksworn are a bunch of as-- jerks."

All of them. Even the ones she liked were assholes.

Maybe her friends went to other flights...

"So we've been... sorted?" That's what it sounded like Rose was saying. "What are Greens usually like?" Since, you know, she was one now. She didn't want to accidentally ruin their image or anything, if they had one.

"Something like that." Hadn't there been some book about a hat choosing which groups kids had to be in? It made Rose wonder if Kairi had read it, but she couldn't remember the name of the book to ask her.

"Well... It's kind of hard to say what makes someone Green." She had to think on this for a long moment. "Dedicated, compassionate yet blunt with an occasional bit of randomness. We tend to do what's right, despite what others think and the consequences that follow. I guess... think of wildlife and how steadfast yet adaptive it is. That might get you a better idea."

Speaking of her friends, one of them can certainly be found if she looks around the Emerald Sanctum. Even more, he seems to look like he's completely okay and unworried about anything going on around him.

On the other hand, that could be because he's simply sleeping on what appears to be a comfy patch of moss. And whatever Kairi shouting she did, it seems like he slept right through it.

Yep. It's definitely Sora.

Kairi almost thinks it isn't him. After all, shouldn't there be more to worry about? How could he be sleeping at a time like this, when Kairi's nerves are running high and she's been worried for him--

Lazy bum.

She stands over him, weight on one foot, hands on her hips. Waits a moment like she's giving him a chance to redeem himself and magically wake up.

Who is she kidding.

"So-ra," she says, loudly. She swears she's had too much practice at waking him up.

Yes, but she's a true master at it. The ominous shadow over him, the inexplicable feeling of doom- and oh yeah, the name. Kairi's got the volume and tone to cut through any one of his regular dreams.

And so, he's stirs awake, begrudgingly. It takes a moment, as usual, until his eyes start to open up to see the redhead standing over him and-

Whoa crap sitting up straight VERY FAST to get a look at her.

"Whoa- Kairi?!"

She offers him a small smile. Her arms move to cross over her chest.

"I was worried, Sora. You could have waited for me by the cave." Someone isn't aware of the whole time-distortion thing yet. She assumes he got here not long before she did. "Where's Riku and the others?" Surely if Sora's here, Riku can't be too far... Not after all of his efforts to find the older boy again.

Sora, still reeling the fact he got woken up and that Kairi is here, is very confused at this scolding. "Huh? What? Waited for you at what cave? What are you talking about, Kairi? Did you just get here?"

Or did he accidentally stand her up for an unknown amount of time at a cave.....really in his tired mind, he's not sure which one is more plausible.

Now it's Kairi's turn to look confused.

"What do you mean? Of course I just got here... Didn't you?" She just saw Sora before she came here.

He scratches the back of his head, the confusion not helping. Even before he came here, he hadn't seen Kairi in weeks. Not since he left the islands to complete the Mastery Exam. It shouldn't be that weird that he wasn't in the exact space than her, right?

"No...I've been here for a few weeks now."

She starts to withdraw just a little. "But how is that possible? I just saw you, Sora! What about... what about Xemnas, and..." And, well, everything.

He was about to argue that no, the last time he saw her was awhile ago on the Islands- but that name catches more attention. Since hey after all, turns out that guy is not as dead as Sora would like.

"- Xemnas?! What do you mean- what was happening before you came here? Is everyone alright?"

Sora, you are freaking your friend out. A lot. She hesitates, still so unsure of why he doesn't seem to know any of this.

"We were at the top of the castle. Naminé opened us a portal to go home through. Don't you remember?"

He's sorry you're being really confusing and concerning! Plus you know, stupid Xehanort clones just never seem to die gosh.

"On top of the castle and Naminé opened a por-" Wait, he does remember that. Except, that makes no sense! That already happened awhile ago! "You mean at the Organization's base? Sure I remember that, but it was months ago!"

Just what was going on.

She falls back a step, feeling faint. "M-Months...? Sora, what's going on?" she voices his own question. He's got to know, right? He's dealt with all his crazy travels... surely he's got some explanation for this.

Eventually she'll just stop caring because it's Sora. He's here with her and they're finally together again.
