wide eyed, panic on the getaway [closed to greens]

Who: Another new Greensworn. Aka newbiesworn.
What: oh god why is this happening this isn't cool guys!
Where: Emerald Sanctum
When: Today (July 8th).
Warnings UMMMM. Well if Sora shows up except getting cavities?

"No, wait!" Kairi shouts after the dragons, not ready to be dumped off in her new home. "You don't understand, I have to get back! I have to make sure they're okay--!" All her hollering doesn't seem to matter and she finds herself in the dark cave. It isn't as great of a shock as the green flames had been not too long ago, but she still draws herself up tight, looking around herself with rising panic.

This... this wasn't good at all! She'd be more willing to help these people if she knew about Sora and Riku and the King and... She has to go back!

But...

That didn't seem to be much of an option by the look of her surroundings.

"Hello?" she calls. She chews at her lip. Well... Standing around forever doesn't help her, but she doesn't particularly want to get near the dragons. Except they seem to be sleeping, so she tiptoes past them and towards the underbrush...

He was about to argue that no, the last time he saw her was awhile ago on the Islands- but that name catches more attention. Since hey after all, turns out that guy is not as dead as Sora would like.

"- Xemnas?! What do you mean- what was happening before you came here? Is everyone alright?"

Sora, you are freaking your friend out. A lot. She hesitates, still so unsure of why he doesn't seem to know any of this.

"We were at the top of the castle. Naminé opened us a portal to go home through. Don't you remember?"

He's sorry you're being really confusing and concerning! Plus you know, stupid Xehanort clones just never seem to die gosh.

"On top of the castle and Naminé opened a por-" Wait, he does remember that. Except, that makes no sense! That already happened awhile ago! "You mean at the Organization's base? Sure I remember that, but it was months ago!"

Just what was going on.

She falls back a step, feeling faint. "M-Months...? Sora, what's going on?" she voices his own question. He's got to know, right? He's dealt with all his crazy travels... surely he's got some explanation for this.

Eventually she'll just stop caring because it's Sora. He's here with her and they're finally together again.

He frowns. "I don't know." His arms cross, as they usually do when he tries to think things through. "Maybe it's some weird time difference between the worlds? I've seen that happen before."

It could be like the different worlds where he saw Mickey at different points in time. Then again, this wasn't a Sleeping World and it's not like he saw a door like the one Merlin made. Whose he to say it's the same?

"But I know I remember defeating Xemnas, and then all of us went home." Sure, Riku and Sora were a bit delayed, but he doesn't see the point in mentioning that right now when she's worried enough. "That was awhile ago."

Probably a good thing he didn't mention it, yeah. She finally begins to relax. "Thank goodness... I'm glad. Everything was so chaotic for a moment, and then I was here." Well, first she was with some weird dragons that had this orb thing, but that's besides the point.

She smiles. "What were you up to, before you came here?" Before the demons attacked. "I hope you were finally getting some well-deserved rest."

He notices her relaxing. If she was really from that moment, he can hardly blame her for being freaked out. Did that mean this Legion was trying to invade the World That Never Was too? With all those Heartless and Nobodies there....that would probably be a very bad thing.

Oh well, that's why they're here right? To stop that from happening. So no point worrying about that.

He gives a smile at Kairi. "Well, things were pretty peaceful for a couple months at the Islands! Then we got a letter from the King asking for help, and Riku and I had to go take this Mark of Mastery Exam." Which ended in...a lot of bad news. "Riku did really great! You should've seen him!"

"After that, I was on my way to somewhere to check on someone, but I ended up here!"

She distinctly picks up on how he only mentioned how Riku did. Does he really think she'd let that go unnoticed?

"It's good that Riku did great!" Pause. Significant look. "How did you do?"

IT WAS WORTH A SHOT OKAY. Maybe one day people will actually fall for it. One day!

Though let's face it that day with his friends is probably never.

But he knows he's been caught at the omission. He rubs his neck a little bit and seems a bit awkward, though he tries to play it up like it's no big deal. "Heh...I didn't pass." To say the least. "But that's okay, I'm sure they'll let me retake it someday."

No, Sora.

It's never going to work.

And you're a bad liar, anyway. If you wanted to lie, you should have been a blacksworn.

She crouches down in front of him and offers him her most radiant smile. "You'll pass with flying colors next time, Sora! I know you will."

But he would have murdered half of Blacksworn within the first week.

He'll look down at her smile, being unable to resist smiling back at her. Sure, there's a lot more to the story than that, but...he can tell her later. She did just get here. "Thanks Kairi. I definitely will."

He wasn't going to give up on becoming a Master just yet.

"But first we gotta help out with these guys! This might sound weird but...do you still have your keyblade?"

If he believes, he can do anything.

Including helping these people out here.

She tilts her head, biting the inside of her cheek. "I don't know how to check." She just barely had Riku offer it to her. She doesn't exactly understand keyblade mechanics... What did Sora do? Will it into existence?

"You...don't?"

He looks momentarily confused at that before it passes. That's right, she's...incredibly new at the keyblade. He's had it long enough that he doesn't even think about how to use it.

"Oh, right. Here, hold out your hand like this." He holds out his hand, showing. "And just sort of...will it to come with your heart?"

She does as he shows. It sounds relatively easy, right? And she has a strong connection with her heart, so when she shuts her eyes and thinks of all that light, she's sure that she has it!

Even if Kairi "kept" the keyblade at the castle, she doesn't have it now. Whatever had been done to her had nothing to do with the keyblade.

She feels something happen when she channels her will, but when there's no added weight in her hand, she opens her eyes with a frown and--

"Sora!"

And panics.

He's a sheep.

Did she...? But how?!

Good question Kairi! It's safe to say, Sora was not expecting that to happen. And so he doesn't even have a chance to dodge. Just one startled noise, a "poof!" and suddenly there's a panicked black sheep bleating in surprise as it stumbles back.

Oh, but he's so cute--

No, Kairi, focus!

"What... Sora, I'm so sorry! I don't know what I did!" She holds her hands out near him, but she's afraid to touch him, not because he's so fluffy, but because she doesn't want to accidentally do anything else to him! "M-Maybe I tried it wrong?" She doesn't want to try it again, either. "Oh. I'm not sure how to fix this."

Oh c'mon Kairi you hugged him when he was a Heartless and that seemed to work! And now he's fluffy instead of whatever darkness zombies feel like. Probably gross.

Sora would love to help you, but every word that comes out just seems to come out in startled sheep bleats. But he's not sure what to make of this! He's never heard of keyblade wielders turning people into sheep, and this doesn't feel like turning into a lion as a druid at all. In fact, he's probably trying to see if he can will himself back into being human like he could with the lion and...yeah. It's not working.

He lets out a whiney bleat and looks over at Kairi. This is not good.

She's pretty sure her Princess of Heart powers are only going to work on Heartless. Being filled with Darkness would probably benefit him right now. A lot more than fluff.

"...S-Sora, stop. You're too cute." Yeah, his bleating is adorable and she can't help but pat a hand over him.

"I guess I could... try to reverse it? But what if I somehow make it worse!" She really needs your help here, Sora! "One bleat if you want me to try? Two for no?"

Or, y'know, maybe it'll just wear off on its own.

But it's not like either of them know that.

Oh, now he's being petted and being told he's cute. It's probably a good thing sheep can't blush. Instead he just wobbles a little on his hooves because even being a sheep can't stop the dork.

And while he might get Kairi's concern a little, he really doesn't see how things could not be worse than being a sheep. Meaning, he immediately gives one pleading bleat.

No really! Try anything!

Okay! She drops a fist into a hand, determined. Takes a breath. She can do this! Sora's counting on her! She just needs... to do opposite of whatever she did a second ago; that should make sense...

She lifts her fist and splays her fingers, this time keeping her eyes on him. Focus, focus, focus, will it--

It's a good thing she's incredibly determined not to hurt him. That's probably the only thing that causes the bolt of frosty ice to soar over his fuzzy body and not directly at him. The bolt crashes into the tree behind him, sending a dance of shattered shards to the ground. Deep lines of blue-tinted ice climb up towards the branches.

She jerks backward, gaping. T-That wasn't supposed to happen! "I don't even know magic! Why is this happening?" Sora really shouldn't be trusting her with this right now.

One more try, she thinks to herself. Third time is a charm. Sora always made this whole magic thing look easy. "I am going to fix this," she tells him, confident.

Her third try ends with thick vines sprouting out of the ground and lifting the poor little defenseless sheep high, high, high into the air.

...

...

"I think maybe we should get someone else to do this, Sora!" she yells up to him. What if he got hurt on the way up...? "Make some noise if you're okay!"

Sora trusted Kairi. He possibly trusted her more than anyone else in his life. She was one of his best friends, after all.

But even that intense bond of trust and love is not enough for him to not have an expression of worry with an accompanying bleat as ice shoots narrowly over his head.

Not that he has time to really reflect that Kairi just accidentally shot magic at him that she didn't have. In fact, all he really has time for is to have his sheep eyes go wide as they can go before he gets shot up high, high, high into the air by vines.

...

...

...

"Baaaa."

Kairi sags and just sits in the underbrush, a shaky relief leaving her when she hears his voice. Well. His sheep-voice. Thank goodness he's still alive. Kairi doesn't know what she would do if she had hurt him.

Thankfully, as she starts to calm back down, her control holding the large vines disperses as well, and they descend back into the ground at a much slower pace than when they shot out.

When Sora the sheep is back at ground level, Kairi throws her arms around him. She can't hurt him if she does this.

Fortunately, Sora had been too fearful of his new legs to even attempt moving around the vine so high in the air, so he manages to come down slowly with the rest of the vines and not take a huge tumble down. Thank goodness for no falling sheep today!

As for throwing her arms around him, Kairi will get about five seconds to enjoy hugging essentially a living ball of fluff before there is another "poof!" and Sora reverts back to human! Wow! Maybe Kairi's love and affection really saved the day again!

Nah just kidding. The spell simply wore off.

Either way, Kairi's now hugging an awkward, disoriented teenager. At least he has the sense to hug her back with one hand when he realizes he has hands again. It's an awkward hug, partly because she's probably hugging him awkwardly now that he's a human and partly because he's still reeling from being a sheep. But it's a hug!

"Kairi...?" She should know that tone. It's his 'what the mickey just happened' tone.

She startles away from him because she's so relieved he's human again, and not at all because they are such awkward teenage kids and what is this hugging thing--come on, she's hugged him plenty of times before!

Okay.

So she's a little awkward about it, anyway.

But she's also incredibly happy that he's not permanently a sheep, even if he was adorable.

"Sora! You're you again! Are you okay?!" Because he was just on a wild ride. She glances away nervously (definitely not "sheepishly"). "I guess I don't still have the keyblade."

Ha ha.

Awkward.

Hey if she's the one doing the startling away, he's okay with that! It means he doesn't have to own up to being an awkward teenager at all! Which let's face it, he very much is on a good day.

"Y-Yeah, I think I'm okay..." Just don't mind him using his now free hand to check to see that his hair is indeed spikey and not a pile of fluff. Oh okay, it is. Whew. He relaxes a little.

"Ha...ha...guess you don't," to put it simply! It's very awkward. He should probably say something. "Looks like you were given a new power. The same thing happened to me."

A beat.

"Well, not the same thing," He didn't turn turn anyone into a sheep. "But you know...a new power!"
