Welcome to the City of Artists. [OPEN]

Who: Greensworn and you
What: Befriending Derenaar
Where: Derenaar and surrounding areas
When: July 12-20
Warnings: bad Darnassian grammar, possible demon killings

[OOC: This post is for any and all interaction with Derenaar and the Greensworn helping the elves from scouring demons to rearranging the greenery to other daily quests up to and including showing other Dragonsworn around. Please remember to add your tag to the post.]

[When the Greensworn arrived at Derenaar, they weren't entirely sure what to expect. Were these elves going to be like the Sin'thalas elves and wish their destruction because of some grudge against the dragons? Or would they be more like the elves of Silverglen Retreat, willing to allow them access and trade but stay distant? What they hadn't expected was - after a lengthy conversation in Darnassian between Rose Hathaway and the elven leaders of Derenaar - to be welcomed in with open arms to the city.

With it being better than initially expected, the Greensworn set about proving themselves by helping out in Derenaar. It seemed a bag of demon heads and a few Kaldorei druids that still honored the Green Flight went a long way.]

[Still a more positive answer than he gets from his own flight... and guess what! He can keep going!]

Which is one reason I want to acquire a mount. In the Azeroth of this time period, there ought to be numerous other factions about, trolls and the insects primarily. But we can't take that for granted.

[Oh no where's the off button Oh. He's not done yet. Although this at least is a little easier to swallow by way of information.]

...haven't seen any signs of either, yet, but there are still a lot of areas we haven't explored.

Exactly. Thus the search for a nightsaber I can ride.

[He nods in satisfaction, considering himself to have explained everything quite well.]

Nightsaber....

[It takes him a moment to realize they've gone back to the subject of mounts.]

Large riding cat. Traditional mount of the Kaldorei. [Answers for everything!] Keep an eye out for some of their patrols, you might see them. Then again, maybe not -- they're a notoriously stealthy people.

[Cats you could ride? He's pretty sure he hasn't seen anything of the sort out on his patrols, but he nods (again), because this is information he'll take to heart.]

The trolls favor raptors. Another reason it would be ideal to get mounts of our own -- if they are as hostile as I expect them to be, we don't want to surrender the tactical advantage of speed and mobility.

[Yep, carrying this conversation by himself without even blinking. Maybe he DOES like the sound of his own voice.]
ninjacques: (say hello to my little friend)

[personal profile] ninjacques 2014-07-24 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[All this information would probably be better given to Rose, or even Geddoe, if Jacques' merc leader were around. Since neither are here at the moment, all Jacques can do is hope he can remember the important points. At least he can understand this line of conversation better than the one with warped timelines.]

That makes sense.

[And at least he's a little familiar with raptors, having seen some around.]

The descendants of the Aqir, though... they're another story.

[Mar falls into a thoughtful silence, which is honestly more than half intended to prod Jacques into asking what he's thinking. He doesn't expect this to work, but hey, no harm trying.]
ninjacques: (just a bit sheepish)

[personal profile] ninjacques 2014-07-27 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Normally, Jacques would probably have left it at that. He's not very good at picking up on social cues, but sometimes he does get curious. And Mar hasn't been annoying, really, for all that he likes to talk.

The hunter tilts his head at him, inquisitively, perhaps, but it's about as much as the Sin'dorei can expect from the silent young man.

[Well, he'd tried. Mar lowers and deepens his voice, as if trying to convey how dark and dire his information truly is.]

The qiraji fly. And the nerubians burrow.

. . . . .

[Okay, you lost him again.]
seesbosscrotch: (choo choo)

[personal profile] seesbosscrotch 2014-07-28 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
They're insectoid. Totally alien. Built by the Old Gods themselves to serve their purposes.
seesbosscrotch: (rude)

[personal profile] seesbosscrotch 2014-07-29 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. They look on us like we look on annoying ants at our picnic.
ninjacques: (Default)

[personal profile] ninjacques 2014-07-29 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Would they also fight against the Burning Legion?
seesbosscrotch: (no)

[personal profile] seesbosscrotch 2014-07-30 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, for the same reason. They might even be persuaded to temporarily ally with us... if they thought they could consume us all afterwards.
ninjacques: (<_<)

[personal profile] ninjacques 2014-07-30 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
...more allies would be better, temporary or not.
seesbosscrotch: (no)

[personal profile] seesbosscrotch 2014-07-31 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Even the type of ally that holds its main strength in reserve, aiding us just enough to ensure victory before turning on our weakened forces?
ninjacques: (Default)

[personal profile] ninjacques 2014-07-31 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[Jacques looks thoughtful at that.]

...what if they ended up having to use those reserves after all?
seesbosscrotch: (approval)

[personal profile] seesbosscrotch 2014-08-01 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Then we're probably dead, so it's of cold comfort to us! But the ideal situation would be an equal alliance. But how often do you enter an equal alliance with ants?
ninjacques: (just a bit sheepish)

[personal profile] ninjacques 2014-08-01 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
....

[Point made, he supposes.]
seesbosscrotch: ('sup?)

[personal profile] seesbosscrotch 2014-08-02 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
We do have certain advantages, though. For example, the Nerubians were completely defeated by the Scourge simply because the latter had access to essentially unlimited reinforcements. Much like the Legion. If we can convince them of their peril...
ninjacques: (Default)

[personal profile] ninjacques 2014-08-03 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
...but how..?
seesbosscrotch: ('sup?)

[personal profile] seesbosscrotch 2014-08-03 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[Mar chuckles, a bit wryly.]

If I knew that, I'd be doing it.
