Quest Log: Suit Up!

Who: Dragon mages and dragonsworn.
What: You have been given a quest to infiltrate Sin'thalas and rescue your fellow dragonsworn. Also discussion of scrying orbs.
Where: The sanctums.
When: May 4th and ongoing for a week.
Warnings: Please PM the mods if needed.

Despite the chaos surrounding the disappearances of several Dragonsworn, your sanctum's dragon mage is trying to be calm about this. After a brief discussion behind the scenes with the others, he or she has returned.

"Gather 'round, I have some grave news. Several Dragonsworn have gone missing. We found them, but we are unable to rescue them by ourselves. It would look very bad if dragons were to attack a settlement. That is why we are asking you for help.

"Southeast of Suramar is a village named Sin'thalas. It is these elves who have taken and imprisoned the Dragonsworn. Whether you negotiate or use force to ensure the return of your brethren, it will not be easy. These elves are highly-trained and knowledgeable, far from the refugees you may have seen in the Retreat.

"In light of this, we have implemented a system to communicate over great distances." The dragon mage unveils a magical orb nearby, the perfect size for gazing. "This is a scrying orb. Approach it and think of Sin'thalas, and you will be seen and heard from the orb at that location. It also works in reverse. This should allow us to coordinate our movements depending on the flow of the situation.

"I urge you to think carefully about how best to retrieve your fellow Dragonsworn. You are yet a small force and highly outnumbered. We cannot afford to lose any of you."

[ooc: If characters want to use the orbs, [community profile] lookingformore is now OPEN. Remember, orbs CANNOT connect from sanctum to sanctum!]

[After extensive negotiations with Vala and Kameis, in which the entirely different person clocked him in the face than he expected, the three had agreed to split up, with Mar being the one going to Silverglen. Thus the plate-clad paladin is the first to show up, offering a wave as he does.]

[ Maridian approaches, Carolina nods in acknowledgement. He is the first to arrive, from any of the flights, and the fact its two redsworn to pay Silverglen a visit isn't completely a bad thing.

But, it IS Mar, and Carolina is admittedly.. a *little* concerned about his approach. On the otherhand, he does occasionally baffle everyone, and that could reveal a few details that regular questioning might not.
]

Did you see anyone else on your way here?

[And he HAS been working with the elves of Silverglen already. There's that.] We were splitting up. Kameis to Sin'thalas, Vala to round up other Redsworn. I haven't seen anyone from the other flights.

[ That certainly helps too, and Carolina's own gathering efforts haven't hurt her own progress. ]

Most will have likely gone there. Let's go find out who can help us here.

[ She turns smartly on her heel, pausing only for Mar to catch up. If they can match pace and stride, it'll look professional if nothing else. ]

[Believe or not, he not only can do that, but is surprisingly good at it. Years of wandering around taking people from place A to place B have taught him a great deal about pace-matching.]

[Of course, the elves here already know enough about Mar to shatter any dreams of professionalism but it's the thought that counts.]

[ hey hey hey, don't ruin this for her, Carolina wants to pretend for at least a few minutes that she's in company that knows what they're doing without throwing the plan-baby out with the bathwater.

While the market made up the central hub of the village, the pair turned towards one of the side rows; down one row was where the village's sentinels were housed and trained. Approaching one of the nightelf pairs on watch, Carolina kept both expression and voice respectful - but her tone indicated she meant business.
]

We need to speak with your Watch commander, or someone of high standing within your village's leadership. Where might we go to have such an audience?

I wish we'd had the luxury of forewarning.

[Darn straight they'd proven themselves. All that banner-planting hadn't been for cheap exercise and recreation!]

[Beyond that, though, he intends to let Carolina speak more directly on matters first, and if she wants to go to the top before speaking, he'll follow her lead.]

[ Well, this is curious. The new arrival is glanced over, the difference in armor and appearance noted, before Carolina gives a respectful nod to the two guards - again - and turns to face the new arrival. ]

[she glances at Mar, but doesn't disagree] As he says. Please lead the way.

[ Carolina will indeed follow where the new night elf leads, curiousity reined in strongly behind business-like expression. Krasus had said that the dragons (or at least, the red flight) had minimal contact with the other races here at best, so there were few extra details to be gleaned before coming here.

Once they've reached their intended destination, Carolina does not wait on the refreshments - though they won't be refused if offered, even if she does not sip hers right away.
]

Your people have been very tolerant of the dragonsworn since our arrival. We appreciate you taking time to speak with us.

[ It's a pity more of this one's brethren weren't as open to strangers - then again, Carolina understood xenophobia well enough. ]

We've come to ask you for information, and advice. While you and your fellow elves of Silverglen have been open to us, I'm afraid that we seem to have run afoul of another group who have taken some of our number hostage. What do you know of the elves of Sin'thalas?

Betrayal? [That makes her stand a little straighter] I suspect you're not talking about those demons we've been brought here to battle. Who attacked you?

[a frown follows] Given they've likely paid close attention to our comings and goings, why would they only act against us now?
seesbosscrotch: ('sup?)

[Mar can't help but laugh at her statement. Only a fraction wrong indeed! So true and yet so false...]

We would be very grateful. Speaking at least for the Red Dragonsworn, we would rather have allies than enemies. Good reasons for suspicion or not, we'd welcome the chance to allay those reasons and work together.

We figured that might be the case. We'll pass on the message, although I cannot guarantee that those not of our flight will follow your advice.

[There's a pause, then Carolina tilts her head at the elf]

Might we know your name?

[It'll make showing gratitude later easier for one.]
