Who: Zelos and Redsworn
What: Zelos is bored, thus people suffer.

[Zelos had no idea demonic apocalypses could be so...dull.]

[Okay, maybe that was the wrong word for it. But to Zelos, it's felt as though he's done nothing but train, gather supplies and fight demons for the past several months. And what the only village being a complete boondocks and the fact he didn't get along with a lot of the other Sworn- he couldn't help but start to feel a little like he was going nuts from the repetition. Even in Exsilium he had a job, books to read and a roommate to harrass. Not to mention a bed and a shower. This was painful!]

[And unfortunately for the Sworn, Zelos's boredom had a habit of turning on others.]

[So for the people that hang around the Ruby Sanctum, they might be finding themselves to be the victims of pranks and little annoyances. Practicing your fire? It might suddenly flare up a little (never enough to be dangerous- just startling). Sitting under the shade of the tree? You may have to watch out for falling nuts. Set something down and walked away for a bit? Wow, how did it move ten feet into the bush? Or maybe you found your armor has been painted on! Or any other assortment of mostly harmless, but irritating things]

[Or maybe you got lucky and avoided Zelos's pestering. Instead you might just find him sitting by the lake, looking perpetually bored out of his mind.]

And maybe take my advice to heart. That'd be a nice bonus.

[WHAT. She almost believes he's lying to toy with her.]

As if you've never seen a couple separate.

[A real nice bonus. Though he's not real sure what to do with concern at all so he brushes it aside]

A dating or courting couple, sure. But once you tie the knot- that means get married- it's a done deal for life.

That seems strange. Not that divorce is all that common in draenei either but it does exist.

[He shrugs a little]

Just how it is. Hell, depending on your social class, you might not even get to choose your spouse in the first place.

Arranged marriages. I've seen a few people try and plan those. It didn't work out. I'm surprised humans would try such a thing. From what I understand there seems to be a great deal of importance on having your own choice and life.

Sure, humans like having a choice, but most like having stability even more. Especially when one person's choices could have disastrous consequences on everyone, you know?

I mean, it's oppressive and suffocating, but.... [he shrugs] I can't deny it's allowed Tethe'alla to survive all these years.

I can't imagine living like that. I know the Light is a guiding force in my people...perhaps more then it should be but to live like that sounds terrible. Stability at a cost of choice.

I cannot imagine living a world quite like that.

Yeah well, consider yourself lucky then. I mean I can get the logic behind it, but it doesn't make it the most fun place to live.

[She 'hmms' for a moment, considering that idea.]

I think I'd rather not have a home world as opposed to live on such a world. Logic aside, it sounds like it wouldn't last against the tests of time.

[While Zelos has a lot of personal reasons to dislike the Chosen and Tethe'alla's system, he can't help but raise an eyebrow at Vala's statement.]

I dunno, I'd say after hundreds of generations and being around- it's passed that test with flying colors.

Has it worked perfectly fine? No one who attempts to rebel or change it? If that's true, how strange. Maybe it only works for shorter lived races...I don't mean anything bad by that.

Of course there's been people who've tried rebelling against it. Sometimes for good reason. It's not a perfect system, by any means.

Still, a lot would say it beats the alternatives. Tethe'allans aren't the most passive of people. A noble or royal marries the wrong person, and it could cause anything from a little political upset to outright civil war - which affects a lot more people than just the happy couple! [And that's not even getting into the Mana Lineage's issue of the end of the world] So it's like I said, sometimes societal stability beats out good ol' choice and love.

[That said, he'll try to lighten the mood with a crack and pretend this has nothing to do with him]

Sure makes me glad I'm a mercenary though. No one's looking to marry me off. [Or dead anyway] I mean, what if I got arranged with someone ugly? Or really bad in bed? I don't know if I could deal!

[She'll take that a sign that his world, is in fact, very messed up. It was a home but she had enough to go on to ponder about it later. Ponder it and wonder if it has any connection to how strange he seemed compared to Azeroth's humans. Maybe all humans were strange. She didn't know. Ah well. She can go with a lighter mood.]

Looks aren't everything. Besides, what if being bad was just inexperience? Sometimes an inexperienced partner is better then one who thinks they know everything there is to know about sex. [She would know. Oh would she ever.]

Hey, inexperienced I can handle. [He gives a nonchalant wave of his hand] I'd like to think I can tell the difference between someone green and a bad lover- I've been with both enough.

I'm just saying, it'd be awful to be stuck with someone that's terrible for the rest of your days.

It's possible for someone to stay a bad lover? Wouldn't a person learn better over time?[She's perhaps not the best person to talk about experience with other people. Devote marriage makes for poor conversation about multiple partners.]

If your people have no concept of separating it might be unpleasant. There are worse things in life as opposed to be a bad partner.

Well, of course there's always gonna be some improvement with practice. But- it's like any skill or talent! Sometimes it doesn't matter how much you practice, you're always gonna be bad on some level.

[He just gives a practiced little laugh at that. He knows damn well what a terrible marriage looks like - he spent his childhood watching one firsthand. It's one of the reasons he avoids the idea so much.]

[But like hell he'd admit it. Not to someone he doesn't know all that well.]

Maybe. But I still think it'd be awful.

[She'll raise a brow at him. "Yeah but-" is right on the tip of her tongue to argue against it. She isn't sure that she can say there aren't Draenei who are terrible at sex. She also doesn't know if it's just an age deal with them. ...Huh.]

I hear practice helps. It might take a lot of practice but it seems impossible to stay terrible forever.

[Oh Zelos. She'll respond with a small shrug.]

I think I'd stick with kind of gross as opposed to good looking and a person I'd rather beat with a mace.

Sure, maybe if you have centuries to get it down. But humans don't have that long! There's a thirty, forty year window tops before nature starts to work against 'em! [A beat] Granted, that doesn't stop from some people from continuing anyway...

[He trails off, as if thinking back idly on times that are best not mentioned here, before responding back]

Well, it's fine to have different tastes! I mean, unless you're trying to woo me...

[Oh.] That's more understand. I guess I have trouble thinking in a smaller time-frame. Life without ever learning the way sex works properly. How unfair.

[She will try to stare at him blankly, to try and be as unamused as possible. It only lasts a few seconds before she cracks up laughing.]

You say that as though I could ever be subtle and woo someone at the same time!

[She'll settle back to grinning. Oh wow she missed being silly and laughing.]

Trust me, I am far too old for the coy, bedroom eye act. [a beat] Not to mention, even if the age and race wasn't a big deal, you're too short for my tastes.

[RUDE. Even if you are well over a foot taller than him]

That's a first! I'm a perfectly fine height!

[It's not her fault you other races are short.]
