[OPEN] NO MORE BEAR MEAT
Who: Zelos and YOU
What: Sick of hanging around the Sanctum (and bear meat), Zelos decides to head out
Where: Silverglen Retreat
When: Todayish?
Warnings: Swearing and violence most likely
[A. Silverglen Retreat. OPEN TO RED, BRONZE AND GREEN FLIGHTS.]
[It seriously hadn't taken long for Zelos to be sick of hanging around the Sanctum and training all the time. Being kept somewhere for his safekeeping had never sat well with him, after all. So he worked on learning about the other areas from the dragons. Sure, most places in the area seemed to want to happily kill him- but it sounded like Silverglen Retreat would be alright for a first stop!]
[Especially if he wanted to get food that wasn't flame-cooked bear meat.]
[And so, ignoring warnings of how it was dangerous outside, he headed out to Silverglen Retreat. He made it there without incident, and once he proved he was a Redsworn, he was allowed in with only wary staresm - which was something he was used to anyway.]
[His hair probably makes him for an easy person to spot in the marketplace, and currently he's wandering the stalls trying to figure out how to get supplies in a trade-based economy when your life skills are well, limited, to say the least.]
[B. Forest outside Silverglen Retreat. OPEN TO ALL.]
[Eventually it seemed some elf decided to throw him a bone (or just get to stop hitting on their daughters for stuff) and made an arrangement that if he brought back a number of stag flanks- they'd give him some supplies he needed. Which hey, he could do that! He could fight, so that shouldn't be a problem, right?]
[Except, for one problem your character might come across, as he kneels over a stag that's clearly been killed by fire and sword cuts - a look of frustrated confusion very clear on his face]
Damn...where's the flank again?

b!
So giving Silverglen Retreat a wide berth was only natural. Though overhearing a familiar voice wasn't something she was expecting, and she detours to find out just what Kaneis is up to. She watches him for a moment, head tilted, before she finally speaks up]
Is it not part of the belly? The lower part.
no subject
Tempest?!
[He hadn't seen her since that first night, before everyone got separated into their flights]
How long have you've been there?
no subject
Barely a few seconds. Did I sneak up on you?
no subject
[Yeah okay, gotta relearn how to watch his surroundings better. Put that down on the to-do list]
What brings you out here? Not that I'm not glad to seeya.
no subject
Exploring, mostly. [she tilts her head in the direction of Silverglen] And avoiding that place, for the most part.
no subject
[Somebody didn't get the memo about black and blue flights!]
no subject
I am with the blue flight.

hehehh..
needless to say, genis's mood is entirely ruined. it's a little too nostalgic, a little too hurtful for him to just take with a grain of salt; even though he knows they didn't toss him out for his half-elven status, it still feels unfair, and embarrassing, and frustrating in the same way it's always felt. and he shouldn't dwell on it, but..
he's twelve, and angry, and genis. so he's moping and frowning and not looking at all where he's going (kid you should probably pay more attention in warland), so as it stands he doesn't see zelos until he's almost on top of him and -- whoops, he panics, and the spell is off before he can even think twice!!
.. wow but what a cute sheep you'll make, zelos!! ]
no subject
[And Zelos, still adjusting to human senses, did not notice Genis coming at all. In fact he doesn't notice anything until the spell goes off and-]
[WAIT WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL?!?]
[Genis you now have acquired one (1) panicking red sheep! And yes, it is very cute and fluffy and making sheep noises like CRAZY]
no subject
sorry zelos, for one, he doesn't.. know that's you under all that wool, and secondly -- ]
Wow! It really worked!
no subject
[The sheep gives a death glare and an accusatory bleat in his direction!]
[And in his wooly anger, he decides to try to headram Genis in the legs! Except, Zelos has no idea how to walk on four hooves so instead of trips over himself and falls forward to the ground in a giant red poofy mess while making angry noises all the way]
no subject
but he can't appreciate it as much because he's crACKING UP SO BAD OH MAN.. THIS IS TOO GOOD.. ]
Haha.. hahaha!! W-wait.. I'll try to undo it.. hahahaha!!
[ except he can't focus because he's laughing so hard and he doesn't.. really know how to undo it anyway.. ]
no subject
[And yeah, Zelos so not happy! He is trying to get back up onto his woobly legs. It's very shakey, but he manages! He wobbles over to Genis and- headbutts him for great justice]
[Except okay at the slow movement he was going, it probably didn't even hurt in the slightest. In fact if it wasn't for angry bleating going on, you'd almost think it was an affectionate headbutt at how failtastic it was]
[BUT WHATEVER. YOU BETTER TURN HIM BACK OR HE'LL...DO IT AGAIN!!]

A
You should buy me lunch.
[She said it with a confident smile. She was dressed most the same, with her black leather jacket on, but she also had a sword across her back. She still carried her stake, but that was kept hidden inside her jacket. Rose also wasn't exactly advertising that she was Dragonsworn. Really, why bring it up with the locals unless it was necessary?]
no subject
Heh, sorry my dear, but I don't have any money.
no subject
You didn't ask your flight for some survival money, did you?
no subject
There's no money to be had. Apparently everything's by trade.

Proving herself a Redsworn had been...interesting. Amane's insistance that she learn how to at least call on fire had left with many things to think about, and though it had taken some concentration, that much had been managed. Now she walked the market with the gait of someone used to combat, ignoring the fact she was easily several hands shorter than the native elves (who eyed her hair and eyes and lack of pointed ears as she passed).
Kaneis was easy to spot, though Carolina did not immediately move to intercept - instead, she followed the outer path of the market to the far left side of the town, where she'd caught sight of an open forge, and now stood paused, watching one of the blacksmiths work his wares. ]
no subject
[And really, he much rather not think about that guy.]
[So spotting Carolina is a welcomed distraction. And he needs a distraction enough to give her a wave, and walk over to bother her]
Hey! What're you doing here?
no subject
She withholds a sigh when addressed by Zelos, only turning towards him once she notices the flicker of red hair approaching out of the corner of one eye. ]
Kaneis. [a short nod, before fixing her attention back on the sword shaping currently taking place on the anvil before them] Taking the time to learn the lay of the area.
You?
no subject
[But at the response, he gives a little shrug]
Oh, I got bored of hanging around the Sanctum. Can only sniff flowers for so many hours, you know?
See anything interesting?
no subject
And avoid being roped into cutting up more bear meat.
[Not that she blames him - only so many ways to roast it, and they are rather lacking in pots and pans for stew right now. The corner of her mouth quirked slightly in amusement, at least.]
I'm not sure what I expected, to be honest. [perhaps hanging out with red dragons gave her different expectations] The armor and weapons are certainly beautifully made. How about you?
no subject
Don't talk about the bear meat. I'm trying to repress the memories.
[Since seriously, he is so sick of eating that meat. It was getting harder and harder not to whine about it]
Are they? I haven't looked at them. I was busy looking at other supplies but...I'm not sure I got anything good to trade with.
